I have mentioned this in another review re: The Grotte du Peche Merle. Very good value, creative food and excellent presentation. We'll certainly visit again.

Happened to be driving through and came across La Roué, very friendly staff, easily understood even by those of us with little French! Great food which you can see being prepared and reasonably priced. Entree and desert plenty for lunch! Sparrows friendly and dogs allowed and welcomed with bowls of water. Would recommend highly.

What a surprise! We stumbled on La Roue not expecting much, and had an excellent and sophisticated lunch, starting with a (free) amuse-bouch of caviar and little toasts. I had an excellent steak and my partner salmon cooked perfectly, topped with cranberries and something crunchy--unusual and delicious. The setting is an open air patio--pleasant but not special, but the food is nicely presented and hard to beat. Friendly service and atmosphere.

We had dinner here on our first night (Saturday) in Cabrerets and were not disappointed. Coming from the city, it's an assuming restaurant, but the food is really great. Good service and a nice, relaxed place. The food really surprised and we had a nice meal outside as the sun finally went down late in the evening. Definitely a must if you're in Cabrerets or nearby. Go early though - they close at 9pm.

Visit this restaurant either before or after your visit to Pech Merle, as we did. Food was reasonably priced, good quanity and quality. Friendly staff, lots of locals dining there. Go for it!
