“Basic but Good”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

We stopped here for a pub lunch on a Saturday and were warmly welcomed by the Landlady? and quickly offered a table for lunch. The pub was fairly busy, I guess, mostly with the village locals enjoying their regular Saturday get together and a reasonably priced lunch. The meal when it came was hot, tasty and very satisfying and both of us enjoyed our choices. Very reasonably priced with choices from under a 'Tenner'. Just minutes off the A14 well and worth a look in if you need to break your journey up.

“a little gem”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

A girlfriend and I had lunch here and were very impressed - except for my coffee! A nice, quiet location, friendly service and nice well presented food. The deserts are excellent and well worth the trip for these alone!

“Lovely stuff”
Reviewed 30 September 2012

After previus outings to The Norton Dog and The Tollgate had left me wondering whether there were any good pub grubberies in the Bury area we found this place, l had lovely fish and chips and the others in the party had roasts. Lots of veg, free-range chicken and pleasant staff. The Malteser cheescake was 'bloody lovely' as was the sticky toffee pudding.
Only criticism is that the decor needs update, nothing too much, a lick of paint would suffice.

Will be popping back in the future!!
