This is a great country Ireland Hotel. The staff who are the owners just love to have a talk about where you're from and the pride they have in their country. The craic is great with great music, plenty of fun and all the locals want to know where you are from. The rooms were clean, a good size and sleep quality was great. While only a small town it is centrally situated for day trips all around the central north of Northern Ireland and there is plenty to see and do. Great value for money and I loved the food. Would highly recommend.

My wife & I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions for a short break. It is one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. It is run by the Mahon family & you will find it easy to meet and get to know them easily as there is always one of them knocking about. The food is superb - both in the bar and the more formal restaurant as you will witness, particularly on a Sunday - hard to get a seat. The bedrooms are nothing special, but comfortable and equipped with everything you would expect, (unless you're American ). My wife has attended the local church and quickly made friends who remember her from one year to the next. At weekends, there usually is music ranging from traditional thru to quite contemporary. On occasion, I have seen the barmaids stop serving to do a bit of Irish dancing in a ceili style. The Craic is ninety if you fall in with the right mix. Wee Joe, one of the brothers has won cocktail competitions and is semi famous as a radio star courtesy of Hugo !! Irvinestown is a typical small market town, with a few interesting shops. You are centrally based for exploring the lakes, which are mesmerisingly beautiful. Try a mini break at the weekend, and be prepared for a late night if you are that way inclined. For anyone with a baby or needing quiet I have stayed in various rooms and have never been disturbed by the antics or goings on downstairs.
One criticism is that if you wanted to take photographs incorporating fancy scenery as a backdrop there is nothing like this. You would have to look elsewhere. Castlearchdale is nearby - and plenty of other pictureskew spots. I recommend this hotel to you as a friendly, down to earth, and welcoming hotel.

Room Tip: There is a car park to the rear. I can't remember the room numbers but if you need to get access to your car for anything such as for kids paraphernalia or a pet ask for a room close to the rear stairs - which are actually a fire escape. There is also a proper entrance at the rear for prams, wheelchairs etc.

Dined at Mahons for Sunday lunch, had the 3 courses of the carvery menu and was totally stuffed!! The service is quick' the food plentiful and delicious and the staff are very pleasant. Joe himself working and always take time to speak to all tables whether local or a tourist, a pleasant genial man. If you are hungry leaving here its your own fault!!! A relaxed place to eat , welcoming for all ages, not mad expensive, highly recommended.

Found the rooms to be very basic and a bit dated but certainly comfortable enough. Where Mahon's Hotel is a big winner is with their super friendly service, waitresses and bar staff could not have been more helpful and combined with superb food from the restaurant made this a very enjoyable stay. I will be back again.

Stayed here with my wife and young child for a couple of nights recently and have to say that we found a real little gem, its close drive to all of fermanaghs tourist attractions which was a handy bonus.
I would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant or bar as the food was fantastic and very reasonable, also the breakfast was 2nd to none (excellent, 5 star).
The staff were very helpful and friendly and would safly say we will return some day, thanks again to Mahons Hotel and staff.
