“Great hotel but very small room”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

This really is a nice little hotel. At the very far end of town at the bottom of a steep hill, but there is a free bus that picks up outside. The food is great as everyone says, especially the breakfast! Loads of choice and always fresh. My only complaint was our room, it was the smallest room of any hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Im sure they had bigger rooms but as we were on a package holiday I think we got the crappiest.

Ignoring the room, it was a great hotel and would stay again.

It is rare that I cannot find fault with a hotel but on this occasion I cannot. The Hotel Palarine is quite simply superb. A real gem and a perfect base for a skiing holiday. It is in Erts which is down the hill from the Gondolas in Arinsal that take to you up to the ski slopes but this is never a problem as there is a regular free bus which stops very near to the hotel and drops you at the Gondola station and only takes about 5 minutes.

We had booked fairly late and it is always a leap of faith on choosing a hotel. We had never been to Andorra before or knew anything about Arinsal apart from what we had read on the internet. It was the great reviews on Trip Advisor that persuaded to pick this hotel. The reviews were not wrong.

Arrival and check in were straight forward, the usual process of giving credit card details for any extras/bar bills etc. We had chosen a quad room even though there were only 3 of us, as it was the same price. The room was much bigger than we had anticipated with an entry hall with the large bathroom leading off. The room itself was simply furnished with tiled floors and both the room and the bathroom were immaculately clean and remained so for the rest of the week. There was ample storage space in the room to hang all our clothes and ski wear. White Linen on the beds and plenty of extra pillows if need be. The room has a wide screen television, which we hardly used as we were out all day skiing. The bathroom again was simple and as I mentioned very large. There was always plenty of really hot water throughout the day and evening. So it was never an issue to take a shower or have a hot bath to ease your aching muscles after a long day on the slopes. Fresh towels were provided on request, like many hotels by simply putting the used ones in the bath in the morning.

The public areas of the hotel were again always immaculate. There is seating and tables in the reception area with plenty of information about the area, a very nice bar with an open fire and comfy chairs and the restaurant.

The restaurant brings me on to the food! Well what can I say - AMAZING!! We were on a half board basis and every single meal was beyond our expectations. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style. Breakfast was truly excellent. Full English Breakfast, Cold Meats, Cheese, Cereals, Toast, Croissants, Juices, Coffee (which was very good) Tea - the whole works and as much as you could eat. The breakfast set you up for the whole day on the slopes.

Then to the dinners - every night has a different theme. We arrived on a Sunday so it was a Roast Dinner followed by Catalan, International, Italian, Chinese, Indian and TexMex. Every meal was excellent, especially the Chinese and the Indian. You couldn't eat better anywhere so it was like having a different restaurant every night. The food was all freshly cooked to the highest standards and if one dish ran out within a few minutes it was replenished. I really am struggling to find enough superlatives for the food. There was never an evening when it didn't meet the previous nights stunning food.

All the staff in the Hotel Palarine were always warm and welcoming. It is owned and run by Maria and Graham who are always around and it has a very lovely family feel to it.

I could go on singing the virtues of hotel as it really made our holiday. It is truly a little gem. Many of the other guests had stayed there multiple times before and we have already said that we will go back and I can't recommend it highly enough!

Thank you to Maria, Graham, the Staff at the Hotel Palarine. Perfection!

Just got back from a weeks stay at the Palarine and have to say what a great place it was to stay. Staff were absolutely first class and the food was even better. Fantastic choice at breakfast and the themed buffets in the evening were spot on. We will definitely be back next year.

First time staying at hotel palarine, would definately recommend it to anyone on a ski holiday mainly for english sausage and english bacon with tetley tea at breakfast and a superb variances of evening meals.
Room as to be expected are basic but comfortable.Hotel bar is welcoming and happy hour a must, unfortunately the hotel is a short free bus ride from Arinsal which takes 5 mins to get to gondola.Overall i would reccomend this place to anyone who wants to visit Andorra.

Stayed here at the beginning of March. The hotel is just what you need for this type of holiday. it was clean comfortable and friendly. The food was excellent and plentiful. We didn't enjoy the Catalan night but that was our taste not the standard of the food. This hotel is the only one in the area to offer cooked breakfast which was certainly needed before a day on the slopes.Yes it is at the bottom of the hill away from the main village but the free ski bus runs at regular intervals and if you miss that on the way back the pay bus is only E1.8. or 15mins walk down the hill.
The owners Graham and Maria always had time for a quick chat and they have a mini bus available for hotel guests to use as a taxi.
The rooms are basic, we took our own kettle, tea ect for the early morning starts. we had a room at the back where a stream runs down the valley.... it was actually a torrent and was very load however we got used to it very quickly and were so tired due to the skiing we could of slept through anything and the view in the mornings was amazing.

We will definitely return again next year

Me and my OH stayed here for a week at the beginning of March. We got a great deal through Crystal and having read the reviews posted on here we were pretty excited for our trip. The hotel didn't disappoint at all. After 10 hours of travelling (trip to airport, flights and transfer) we were pretty hungry and to be told by the rep on the bus that we would be getting all you can eat Roast Dinner was a great start. The food lived up to expectations all week. A different theme each night, italian, chinese, indian. the breakfasts were superb too. Bacon, sausages, eggs, different cereals etc. The bar was great, not too big and not too small meant that you really got to know your fellow guests. They showed the 6 nations rugby and football matches when they were on and good music the rest of the time. The staff also couldn't of been more helpful; giving us a lift back from the sledging evening as the buses had stopped and letting us know the piste and lift conditions before we left in the morning. They always joined in with chatter at the bar but also never neglected people who were waiting for dinks. The rooms are standard but what else do you want?! We couldn't of asked for more from the hotel and had a truly amazing holiday.

I've just enjoyed my third stay here and felt impressed enough to scribble a quick review. Owners Graham & Maria are great hosts and their staff… especially Dave & Sammy are excellent. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Andorra having 'discovered' the Palarine.
