Modern comfortable rooms in traditional house centre of town. Bar/restaurant provide excellent home made dishes prepared by owner with delightful service by wife+daughters. Wd definitely recommend it and will return.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, the new owners are doing a good job of refurbishing the rooms. A good bar and restaurant with an excellent breakfast. The one way system in poperinge has been changed so can be difficult to find using a sat nav

We visited it in June 2011. The beer range is still good but it stops at that. Its expensive restaurant across the road is closed and up for sale. That brings back bitter memories. The local famous October Beer Festival which has been held at the Palace for years is also moving - to the Hotel Belfort in the refurbished cobbled Grote Markt. That about sums it up.

Location is pretty good for exploring Flanders.
Parking could have been a problem, but I always managed to find a space right outside the hotel each night I was there.
The bar is small, but cosy and has a decent range of drinks on offer at reasonable prices.
Service was okay, if not exactly friendly.
The real let-down were the rooms. They looked shabby and in need of refurbishment. It would have been more comfortable to rest my head on a breeze-block rather than use the pillows provided. And no matter how long I might have stayed, I could never get used to the concept of having to take a shower whilst sat down in the bath. I also picked up half a dozen flea bites over the course of my stay. Let's hope I haven't brought the blighters home with me.
So, the hotel was a disappointment and I'm surprised that it has such a relatively high rating on here. There are too many good guest houses in the region for me to consider staying here again next time I visit Flanders.

Modest but clean Hotel about 30-40 mins drive from the Dunkirk Ferry in the lovely small town of Poperinge - a great place for exploring Flanders.

Hotel has a good Bar attached but no parking. So watch out for the meter zones!

Some street noise in the morning if in the front.
