We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2014 in one of the Mansard Rooms. It was spacious, perhaps a little worn but comfortable. Unfortunately we did not have a view of Lake Como as, although our room was at the front of the Hotel, the mansard windows were too high.
The bathroom was large. The bath itself had a shower attachment but no shower curtain which made it difficult to shower without flooding the floor.
The building itself is beautiful, probably early 1900’s, and sits right on the edge of Lake Como. It is directly opposite the Ferry Terminal from where trips can be taken by boat to visit other towns on the Lake – Bellagio is a must.
We particularly liked its location in that we could stroll out from the Hotel before breakfast and again before dinner for drinks at restaurants a bit further along.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating and made you feel at home. They spoke a variety of languages.
Breakfast was upstairs on the terrace and was plentiful with a good choice. Dinner was in the formal dining room on the ground floor – there were 4 courses and very varied.
We would definitely go back but, if we stayed again, we would definitely take a room with a lake view.More
