“Lovely location and room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2009

Hotel is right on the lake and the ferry stops right in front of it at Lenno.

Hotel's breakfast is all you can eat continental. Nice but not a huge amount of choice.

Staff were very helpful. Gave us bus / ferry timetables with the routes we wanted highlighted.

Stayed in attic room for about £65/night in November. Room was large and had jacuzzi bath. Bath did not work propertly but they fixed it within 15 mins of reporting problem.

The only downside with the room was there was no kettle/complimentary tea/coffee etc so you either had to drink in the bar or use the mini bar which made it more expensive. The breakfast waiter would fill our flask with coffee though so that helped.

Hotel had sauna in private room with basic gym equipment and shower.

Limited choice of restaurants in local village but lots in surrounding villages/towns.

Can take a local bus #10 to Menaggio and then change to #12 to go to Lugano in Switzerland for day trip. Cost about €12/ per person Trip about 1:20 each way.

Would stay here again.

I found this hotel on the Trip Advisor web site and was very pleased with our short stay, I can't wait to return. The front desk staff was most helpful. The food was fine, we had breakfast both mornings and it was more than adequate, and we had dinner one evening, and it was very delicous (chioce of roast beef or fish). We had a balcony room overlooking the lake. Tuesday morning was Market Day and I enjoyed walking along the promenade and looking at all the vendors. I bought a lovely tablecloth that I used on Sunday for a lasagna meal here at home with the family. We bought an all day ferry ticket and toured the middle section of Lake Como, getting off in Bellagio where I thoroughly enjoyed myself and spent too much money ! This short trip to Lake Como was at the request of my husband who has always wanted to visit the area. Prior to this we had been on a two week Mediterrean Cruise, very busy and hectic, so this was a wonderful way to decompress before returning home.

We were recomended this hotel while traveling independantly around lake como.It is in an excellent location with excellent parking and access to the lake transport system. It is a bit dated but clean and comfortable, good lake views and helpful staff. In this area it is hard to find good middle ground places to stay that are not inundated with large partiesThe hotel provides food en mass that is good but crowded however the re are pestaurants near by that provide everything you need.Try and book early to get a better deal we paid over the odds for the last available room.

This was our first stay at this hotel, but it will not be our last! It is probably the best all round hotel I've stayed in and was just perfect for our honeymoon. We had a superb, ginormous lake view room on the 3rd floor which although overlooking the lake side road (not very busy) was quiet and peaceful. A couple of other reviewers have criticised the quality & variety of food available. I feel that this is unfair - the continental breakfast consisted of 2 types of croissant, pan au chocolat, ham, salami, bread rolls, 2 types of cheese, fruit, yoghurt, jams, cereals and bolied eggs... oh and coffee to die for!!!. I defy anyone to be hungry after their breakfast! The evening meal comprised 4 courses, with a choice on the starter and main. They were small portions, but 4 large course would have been too much - I think they got it just right and again we never left hungry. If there was nothing you liked from the menu, if you had a word with the excellent head waiter, Umberto, he would arrange some pasta or alternative with the chef. The hotel staff could not have been more pleasant and attentive. Afternoon tea on the terrace after a long hard (!) day on the lake was lovely. Recommend that you buy a 6-day central lake ticket (33 euros each) & you can just hop on off ferries as you wish. Ignore the negative reviews and book in for a relaxing, peaceful hoiday.

We planed to stay in Albergo Lenno for 4 nights but after we spot the place and location we booked additional 2 nights. All stuff was extremely helpful and most accommodated.
Special thanks to Luca and Valentina for making our stay so pleasant. Also thank you Paula and Laura.
We fell in love with Lake Como and people who live there.

Lenno is a very quiet place, perfect for relaxing and visiting other towns and villages, either by boat or car. The hotel is just lovely - choose a room with a balcony and lake view. The staff could not have been more helpful. The head waiter, Umberto, very happily offerred us alternatives to the menu each evening, and toast is available for breakfast, just ask! A perfect retreat.

We’ve just returned from ten days at Albergo Lenno. We both loved it, and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. In particular, the staff are so charming, each and every one of them. The atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly.
I really cannot understand some of the negative comments about the food. We booked on B&B basis but enjoyed several really good evening meals at the hotel. The breakfast is what one would expect from any hotel abroad – if you want a full English stay at home!
The swimming pool is a lovely place to sit on a sunny day, relaxing with a good book. The garage beneath the hotel was useful, as it’s difficult to park anywhere nearby. Obviously the close proximity of the ferry stop was most convenient. I’d agree that you don’t really need a car to stay here, indeed we spent most days travelling across the lake on the ferries. A wonderful way to travel. We also took a couple of walks on the Greenway del Lago di Como.
So, to anyone reading this, I advise you to ignore the negative reviews, they don’t know what they’re talking about. Go and see Albergo Lenno for yourself – it’s just beautiful.
