Ann and Alex welcomed us back warmly into their guest house. We booked last minute, but nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were cozy and exceptionally clean, as was the rest of the house. The food at breakfast was beautiful and comprised of cereals, melon, yoghurt, fruit juice, local sausage, bacon and black pudding, with a choice of eggs from their own hens, grilled tomatoes and fried bread, followed by toast of your choice, with a range of local preserves, and as much tea (normal or fruit) and coffee. One thing I liked was that the kitchen door was left open to reveal an immaculate kitchen with an aga range, completely in keeping with the rest of the house and area. There were plenty of information leaflets available on walks and different places to visit around Malhamdale. Well done to you both and thank you for a very enjoyable weekend.

2nd time staying at the river house. The owners Ann & Alex are so friendly and helpfull .with information of the area.Theres a good selection at breakfast.and this sets you up for a days walking .Set in Malham the village is the ideal place for a chill out weekend..WE WILL BE BACK. Theres 2 pubs in Malham friendly the food good but would say over priced. Snack at dinner £14.40 for 2 x panninis well over priced .But do not let that distract from a lovelly Area

Room Tip: Have stayed in rooms 5 & 6 Both good

A picturesque house in a lovely location. The owners were very nice, very friendly and very helpful. The room and en suite was clean. Their breakfast and packed lunches were good and plentiful and kept us going for the days walking. We would highly recommend staying here. We would def come back.

PS For dinner we tried the pub next door which had strangely mixed decor but lovely food.

We stayed here en route on the 'way of the roses' bike ride. It was clean, friendly, had a fab breakfast and is next door to a lovely pub. There was a safe place to lock up our bikes. Perfect. The village is really pretty and quiet, I would recommend this place.

Stayed here for two nights. Great location in the centre of the village close to both the pubs. The owners are attentive but not pushy, the decor is attractive and the room was attractively decorated. Nice guests lounge and dining room. Breakfast excellent.

The first thing you notice about the Hotel is the front garden – a beautiful example of how an English Country Garden should look with its organised chaos and a riot of colours and shapes. It certainly attached a group of Japanese tourists with cameras! The second thing is in the hallway – two 2013 AA Certificates for “Breakfast Award” and “Dinner Award” recognising the “high quality with emphasis on freshly prepared local ingredients”. I didn’t have dinner there but the breakfast was excellent. The welcome from the proprietors was warm and chatty with some good advice on how to get to various local attractions. The bedroom was very comfortable and spotlessly clean as was the en suite bathroom. Vehicle parking is no problem. Looking in the Visitors Book, I noticed a lot of flattering comments especially from overseas guests – not at all surprised about that! Highly recommended.

We stopped as a party over Friday and Saturday night to complete another section of the Dales Highway.
A warm welcome from the proprietors, lovely clean well presented rooms. The bed was so comfortable , ensuite with a corner bath. The decoration and cleanliness needs mention , all up to date and no mouldy bathroom, linen and towels of the best quality.
The breakfasts, massive choice and the full English has to be tried, no cheap ingredients here. There own eggs, top notch bacon and sausage all local produce I presume. Served on hot plates which is a good indicator of somebody who cares. Lashings of tea and coffee and a never ending supply of toast.
All in all a real treat, and a pleasant surprise. Good value for money . Great surroundings great service. I look forward to stopping again and soon. Many thanks!!!!
