“Beautiful Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2013

We stayed one night at Beck Hall with our dog. We chose this B&B because there was no charge for the dog, which says a lot about whether a place is actually dog friendly or not. We were met by a very helpful, young lady who showed us to our room. Our room was a decent size and we had everything we needed : ensuite, plenty of towels, tv and tea and coffee. We also had a nice view looking over the beck. The bed was comfy with lovely crisp bedding, and the room was very clean. What more could you want? The honesty bar is brilliant and a nice touch as is the laptop for guests to use in the lounge. Beck Hall has loads of character and charm, especially the older part of the building. Breakfast was very good with a fantastic choice. It is located a short walk away from Malham Cove and many other wonderful walks in the area. Check out time of 11:00 was fantastic, gave us just enough time to get a little walk in before setting off. Would definitely go back for longer next time. Our thanks to the staff for making our stay, albeit short, so pleasant and for definitely being dog friendly :)

Just spent a very pleasant 2 night stay at the Beck Hall hotel. The hotel is situated beside a gentle flowing river, with lawned areas along the banks where you can sit and relax in the sunshine. The breakfasts are great with a realy good selection. We had room No9 with dual aspect windows both overlooking the river.only slight downside to our room was the walk down the corridor to our room was very creaky ( due to the age of the buildings) and we had to be aware of this as we retired for the night and not disturb adjacent guests.
The hotel is a great place to stay and see some of the best scenery England has to offer

Thanks for your review. The sunshine does make a massive difference and a pleasant change to have it for a while. So glad you were able to enjoy the countryside and we were able to contribute to your visit to Malham. We will have another go at fixing the creaky floorboard but it will probably still creak!
Thanks again for your review.

We have just returned from Beck Hall. Our room was absolutely lovely, four poster bed, comfortable, big fluffy pillows, tea/coffee making facilities. Really beautiful place, best breakfast we have ever had, sausages were amazing! Many lovely long walks with our labrador. Great idea with the honesty bar for evening treats. The owners were lovely people who were friendly and made us feel relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for them. Lovely location to sit outside and read, have an afternoon tea and relax, what more could you want! Fantastic, thank you. We will definately be back and recommend to our friends in London.

Room Tip: Room 6, located to the side of the hotel, side entrance so not to disturb residents.

Happy to highly recommend this hotel. It's situated in exquisitely beautiful surroundings, with Malham Cove a mile down the road and the spectacular Gordale Scar a lovely walk down the river bank via Janet's Foss. The hotel itself is idyllic, situated on a river bank, with its entrance via a stone bridge across a ford. Space for parking is just a few meters down the road. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. There are a coupe of good pubs within 100 meters walk of Beck Hall where you can get excellent meals and a range delicious cask beers. I'll definitely be going back again.

Room Tip: When booking check to see if they have a room by the stream - should you care to fall asleep to the...

We stayed here on our Pennine Way trip in June 2013. Lovely riverside room and helpful friendly staff. Also good drying facilities. Important for us walkers! Afternoon tea was lovely. Shame they dont do evening meals as the meal we had at The Listers Arms was very poor.
Hard cabbage stalks and instant mash are not my idea of a tasty meal.Very picturesque setting. Billy & Julie Mills

Room Tip: Riverside apartments excellent

After a long day walking all we wanted was a good strong cup of tea, a tasty sandwich and a piece of cake. Well, we got all that, totally home-made and outstanding quality. The "tea for two" with sandwiches, cake and scones with cream and jam was super value and really hit the spot. All the staff we came into contact with were attentive and friendly. Well done. Strongly recommended.

Thank you so much for your appreciation of our tea shop offering, it is especially nice as we have just altered our offering and moved away from burgers etc. to a more traditional choice, the afternoon tea, we ( I say we, that's Tom) now bake all our cakes on site as well as prepare fresh sandwiches etc daily.
Thanks again it is great that we were able to provide you with just what you wanted.

Went with our 2 dogs and the room was amazing. So big and looked out onto the stream. Perfect. Booked our next visit there and then. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Only one minor complaint. The tv was obstructed by the post on the 4 poster bed.
