“A lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2013

We stayed for 2 nights this week, using a Buyagift.com voucher given to us by our grown up children. We booked at the last minute so they had only one room left, but it was very nice - in the newer part of the building. The room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, served in a spacious and comfortable dining room. Staff were very friendly. Cosy residents' lounge with refreshments available on an 'honesty' system. We are planning to return.

Just returned from a 2 night break and loved every minute. From the moment we arrived we found the staff pleasant and helpful. We chose our room on booking (the green room) in the old part of the building. It was spotless clean and the bed has to be one of the most comfortable I have slept in.The only down side to the room was the tv being low down and difficult to watch in bed, would have been better on a wall bracket. The en suite is modern and again spotless clean. Breakfast was lovely although we did have to wait a while for it...probably down to it being cooked fresh to order.
For a place that accepts dogs you certainly couldn't tell they had been there.
Hope to return next year, hopefully to better weather so we can relax outside by the stream!

We've been coming here for over a decade and really love the place. Had a lovely two days stay which was over much too soon. As soon as we walked in it felt like a home from home. Relaxing, great food, fantastic location, nice bathroom, a well filled honesty bar too. We're planning a return already.

Our coach party stayed here for 3 nights so practically took over the whole b & B. Although they say it is just bed and breakfast they did give us dinner on our first night which was delicious. This is in a lovely setting, and the noise of the stream running past is very soothing. Comfortable lounge with log fire and a bar with an honesty box! We were in room 5, the family room, which was very warm and comfortable - the bathroom was very modern and the shower very efficient.
Breakfast was lovely, very good selection, loved the scrambled egg and salmon, choice of juices, cereal etc.

Room Tip: Several rooms have 4-poster beds.

We stayed here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The location is beautiful - lovely gardens and the tea room location overlooking the beck is the nicest in Malham in our opinion. Room 4 however was nothing special - wouldn't describe it as immaculate but it was satisfactory. On the plus the bed was very clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was poor - the showerhead was fixed pointing toward the wall it was attached to and couldn't be repositioned so it was a very sparse shower, not much water reached your body - not ideal if you've been hiking all day especially with the cold plastic shower curtain sticking to you! Did mention this on departure but the response was you should have told us sooner - prob true but the hotel was fully booked and since the shower would have required a new fitting we didn't hold out hope of a solution or wish to waste time on our anniversary negotiating getting it fixed. Nonetheless the staff were very friendly and the breakfast superb. Since the room not just the setting is important to us we only rate it 3/5 - if the location is more important to you would no doubt rate it higher.

Room Tip: the one plus about room 4 is it has a separate entrance - we didn't hear any noise

Thank you for your review, sorry you didn't enjoy the room, room 4 is firmly on our radar for an upgrade and we accept your points, worth noting though we are aware ofthis and that is why room 4 is cheaper than most currently. The shower issue could have been sorted hence the comment although I accept this was neither a helpful, or sympathetic approach, it was made from the point of view that you need not suffer this! Glad you enjoyed Malham and the other aspects of your stay, we take your comments on board and will be doing something soon.

What a really nice place full of pleasant helpful staff.

We dont normally use B&B but if they were all like this we might more often. The building are a mix of old and new and there seems to be a quirky mix of old and new in terms of the rooms but the place certainly has character and our room (room1) was smallish but clean and modern in style with a nice big bathroom and shower.

We arrived so early for our one night stay that we were there at breakfast time, I asked if we could leave the car in the car park....no problem . I asked if we could buy some breakfast.... again no problem just added a few quid to the bill.

a really nice place offering good customer service with a smile at a sensible price and just metres away from loads of great walks and the cove. Love the honesty bar as well.

Unreservedly recommended

We stayed for 3 nights. Very comfortable beds, nice size room and very good shower, plenty of hot water.Good to be able to have breakfast up to 10.am as we are not early risers. Very good friendly service. Lounge was lovely with the fire lit. This b &b is in a lovely place very pretty with the stream running through. easy to get to most part of the dales. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main part of the house, saves getting wet if weather bad.
