We arrived to a very warm welcome, our room very clean and tidy. Great breakfast choices, excellent food, I enjoyed breakfast so much I decide to put my diet on the back burner during my stay. Staff were very helpful, pleasant and accommodating. A place I would heartily recommend, and definitely return to in the near future.

Room Tip: Find a room where the tv doesnt get a signal and escape the rat race.

We booked Beck Hall because of its location and it claimed to be pet friendly - Well the situation is stunning with a babbling brook running through the gardens and the staff were fabulous with our dog so we can confirm they are indeed "pet friendly". I was initially disappointed that there was no cafe as the decision had been taken earlier this year to close it and concentrate on the B&B side of the business but soon realized that this was actually a bonus ... no noisy day trippers tramping through the gardens spoiling the residents' peace and tranquility. The staff were unobtrusive but available and totally helpful if you needed them which added to the relaxed ambiance. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year. Tips as follows - Lister Arms best pub and restaurant within walking distance, keep your car topped up with fuel as the nearest garages are in Skipton or Settle, if you need access to the outside world take a tablet or laptop, as mobile reception was limited (at least for us on O2), as the hotel does have wifi and a laptop for general use in the reception room - most importantly if you visit in summer take some insect repellent the village swarming with midges. Thank you Alice, Steve and all for a wonderful break. See you next year.

Room Tip: The new annexe I feel has the nicer rooms but I have only stayed in these on all our visits

We have stayed in a family room at Beck Hall for the third year running as we like it so much here. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff welcoming and the breakfasts include a wide range of choice. Beck Hall is in beautiful grounds and ideally placed for exploring Malham and the rest of the Yorkshire Dales. Hope to be back again next year! Michelle, David and Lauren

We've stayed at Beck Hall a couple of times over the last 20 years and absolutely love the quirky building, the grounds (love that river crossing) and stunning location. Once again, the staff were helpful and welcoming, the breakfasts were huge and tasty and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The lounge with its log fire, comfy chairs and oak panelling is a great place to sit for a while, as are the garden benches alongside the river. The honesty bar is a tremendous gesture. Slight downside I guess was that our bathroom was a tad tired which for the price of a room was disappointing. We did however peek in some of the other rooms and they were fabulous - maybe it was because dogs were permitted in ours? Anyway, all round another great stay. As above, we'll be back.

We stayed here for one night as part of a Dales trip. We booked based on Malham being a popular spot and the gist of the reviews on this site. We were not disappointed.

We found Beck Hall easily, with the car park 20 yards past it and signposted. We walked to the Hall, over the gently flowing beck via a very old footbridge with handrail.

We were checked in quickly and given a tour of the facilities and then shown to our 4 poster bedroom, with peaceful views over the beck from both sides of the bay window.

The room was well appointed, Sky TV, plenty of tea and coffee (with spares in the hall upstairs and downstairs. There are no street lights so at night it was dark, very dark. One niggle, the wooden chairs were very uncomfortable for relaxing.

We ate at the Lister Arms, 100 yards away - an excellent real ale pub and restaurant.

After a good night's sleep we went down for breakfast. This was wonderful - a menu was provided and the food was hot and really good quality (local sausages, eggs and bacon). The plate was full and the tea and coffee were plentiful. A selection of juices and cereals was also available.

Out of interest, we went into the residents' lounge - a comfy room with log fire, it also included an honesty bar - wine and beer, with a price list and a book to log your purchases so you can be billed on checkout. This was a lovely gesture of trust rarely seen.

The abiding memory will be the friendliness and hospitaity of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We even saw residents' luggage being wheelbarrowed over the beck to the car park.

We will return soon.

Room Tip: Upstairs gives a better view but four posters are big beds so make the room smaller
