“Fantastic cottage located in a lovely village with lots of interesting 'nooks and crannies'”
Reviewed 11 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The 'Auld Cottage' was spotlessly clean and included everything needed for a great stay. The owner has perfectly pitched the cottage to provide a warm cosy welcoming feel. We much appreciated all the little extras left too. The village itself was charming and had lots of interesting places to visit and it was also an ideal location for any traveller wishing to explore the north coastline between Inverness and Fraserburgh. Many places to visit and enjoy and an abundance and choice of golf courses to play.

“Good home base”
Reviewed 19 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Good little house just a short walk to the sea and within a couple of hours of sights to the west. I can recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Portsoy.

Everything is tidy and there is even a fireplace. Even the bed is comfortable!

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed 7 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Another fantastic weekend in Portsoy for the Boat Festival and again in this wonderful cottage. The standard of the cottage is excellent and Judith makes it so welcoming with adding the little touches of the shopping starter kit and toiletries. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

“Very Comfortable in Portsoy”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The cottage was one of several places we stayed on a tour of Scotland and was great.
Everything you need was there, very comfortable bed and sitting room and a well equipped kitchen.
The central heating was very effected - and was required for Australians staying in the not-quite-balmy weather we had in mid-June this year.
The wifi was excellent too.
Portsoy is a very quiet town, so be prepared to drive to explore the local area.

Liked best: Good little cottage in a typical coastal town

“Lovely base camp for a real Scottish experience”
Reviewed 15 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This lovely old cottage in the north coast village of Portsoy is fully modernized inside with a luxurious bathroom and the most comfortable bed imaginable! We rented this cottage for two weeks and appreciated the cozy atmosphere with lovely personal touches of the proprietor, like the basket of tea and scones, butter, bread and jam to welcome us! Situated in the heart of Portsoy, a quaint working fishing village, it was a pleasant walk to the bakeries (2 delicious bakeries!), the fish and chip shop, local pubs, antique shops and the Co-op grocery, which sold locally sourced vegetables, fish and meat along with traditional Scottish oatcakes and whisky! We used the Auld Shop Cottage as a base camp for day trips to visit whisky distilleries, castles, ruins, standing stones, antique shopping and historical sites. We spent time walking the coast along pristine beaches and were fortunate to see dolphins jumping in Portsoy bay almost daily. We loved coming back to our cozy cottage every evening, sitting by the fire and reflecting on our adventure of the day. It felt like home. We recommend this to everyone who wants to have a true Scottish experience.

“Absolutely excellent”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our stay on the coast of the Moray Firth. The cottage is freshly refurbished throughout, well appointed, immaculately clean and well equipped. The small touches, including the welcome pack were thoughtful and appreciated. The kitchen is modern, stylish and has everything you need. This is an absolutely excellent holiday cottage
