“All you want from a pub meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

We visited late Sunday afternoon (4pm). It was the only place we could find in the area (by using the internet) that was open late afternoon for a full lunch menu but that didn't spoil it with "entertainment". That may be handy for those who, like us, had visited an event at Duxford.

Excellent starters of asparagus and scallops were followed by traditional Sunday Roast dinners (though there were plenty of other good alternatives - we're just boring traditionalists!). Good beers to accompany the meal. Excellent and very helpful service - and a good find for us, especially if you are looking for somewhere that is wheelchair-friendly (which is an aspect that their website could make more of, in fact).

My partner and i found this lovely place whilst out for a drive. As we had our well behaved dog with us we were prepared to eat outside.we were delighted to be able to bring her in.We were made to feel welcome from the start.the food was very good and obviously home cooked. The apple crumble the nicest i've had .It was a very relaxed lunch the hardest part was deciding which meal to have.pie of the day for me.steak for partner.both of us happy with our choice

“Good food although the starts were expensive.”

The starts were over fussy and not good value. The mains were good present well. A good range of "real" ales

“Warm welcome and great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2014

Staff were fabulous on our recent booking for a party of 14. They were helpful, attentive, pleasant with the children in the group and nothing was too much trouble. Food was tasty and well cooked if not a little on the expensive side, but thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Used this pub as a meeting place, ended up staying for our lunch. Lovely food, came hot and freshly cooked to order. Lovely hot pot of tea and coffee. Very friendly staff, very friendly manager.
