Good hotel with good food in the restaurant. The hotel has good facilities in the form of a swimming pool and sauna for a relaxing break. Rooms at the front afford views across the water to Llansteffan although the lower part of the view is the hotel car park and holiday home site. Rooms at the rear have no view as the hotel snuggles up to the cliff face.
We used the restaurant on both nights that we visited and found the food to be excellent and reasonably priced. Try the cockles with bacon as a starter.
If you have a dog, the hotel welcomes them in the rooms and the restaurant which was our main reason for selecting the hotel but were pleasantly surprised by the pool, sauna and the restaurant.
There is a beach area that can be used a short walk from the hotel but as it is tidal, the water is either completely gone or is pushing you onto the rocks. There are plenty of alternatives within a short drive with Pembrey Country Park and its 8 mile long Cefn Sidan beach being 20 minutes drive away.
We will return for another short break soon.

This review is of the Restaurant, as we live in delightful Ferryside so can't review the Accommodation. The Restaurant is very well decorated, with comfortable seating and quite wacky ornaments and knick-knacks! We had Sunday Lunch here on the first Sunday since they restarted this service. We cannot fault the quality of the food, the service, cleanliness, and value for money. We opted for the Roast Pembrokeshire Turkey with absolutely all the trimmings, this was a brimming plate of delicious food even before the Roasted vegetables arrived. We will definitely come again, but book next time as this place will likely get more popular as the weather improves. If there is a very slight downside it is that one of the tables without a tablecloth (most had one), was very sticky due to polish and the highly fastidious cleaning regime imposed by the pandemic (or was it Damned Panic). The Restaurant element of this hotel is so good it deserves Trip Advisor recognition in it's own right - so how about it?

Very very pleasant place. Hôtel clean and comfortable. Spacious rooms. Restaurant outstanding with big open fire place, very good food, efficient and sympathic servers. Pool and spa in course of refurbishment, but very nice to use. Large pool. Well heated jacuzzi. Sauna and hammam in service (not like other places who close such facilities with the alibi of COVID...).
    Decoration is original.
The caravan and mobil-home camp in front of the hotel is forgotten as soon as you enter this adorable place. So is also the buzy railway track between hotel and beach...

Room tip: Easy to reach by train from Cardiff or London. Beware of tide times ! Numerous castles, museums, hiking paths all around.

This was the first time staying at this hotel, and it didn’t disappoint!
Situated in Ferryside it’s a lovely place to escape busy life but close enough to rejoin it if you wish.
The room was AMAZING, and overwhelming to walk into … it was a balcony room (with views over Llansteffan) with a vaulted ceiling, mezzanine seating area and four poster bed and also a sofa. The bathroom was just as impressive with a corner bath, double walk in shower, sink & WC.
The food was reasonable and tasty, and the restaurant setting was relaxing and ambiant. Breakfast was excellent as plentyful and included in the price.
The staff was attentive and a big shout out to the lady on the desk 4.30-5.30 on the Saturday (15th Jan) … who went above and beyond to arrange some things for an outside caller to surprise the guests.
The spa area was clean and tidy, the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room were used and enjoyed.
A well needed break from life and thoroughly appreciated, really enjoyed the stay.
I would definitely recommend this place

We stayed for a function and appreciated the large refurbished bedroom and the new look to the restaurant for breakfast since we'd been there two years ago.

The staff were hardworking and certainly busy and attentive for the group dinner.

The shower being only 'warm' and not reliably hot on both Saturday evening and Sunday morning was below the expected standard (management alerted). We'd had a similar experience before.

While the weather didn't help, the view across the River Towy to Llansteffan Castle would be worth the extra £ on a sunny day.

Please, please sort the hot water issue and make the most of your hotel and its location.
