“Fabulous Minibreak ”
Reviewed 11 December 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Stayed over a long weekend in November with my husband and our dog. Gorgeous cottage with everything you could need inside. Very tastefully decorated inside with even a Christmas tree. Very quiet location with an enclosed garden for the dog. Ideally placed for day trips Bakewell and Chatsworth close by. Nearest supermarket we found was the coop in Tideswell which had all the basics. Local pub in the village is only about 10 min walk away too. Would definitely recommend.

“The peak of the Peak District”
Reviewed 19 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have rented many other places in the past, but I think this was probably the best. Difficult to find a fault - maybe a bedroom door that didn't close properly and the wifi didn't always work with my tablet (though it did with my mobile). We had pretty good weather, which was a bonus! Highly recommended!

Thank you very much for your kind reveiw. I have taken note of the door, we do appreciate the feedback as then we can make sure it is sorted. We do try really hard to keep the cottages and farm to a high standard, so our guest's holiday are an enjoyable stay so it is lovely to receive such positive feedback, many thanks. Penny

Beautiful place, comfortable but well equipped cottage and great unfussy but charming hosts. We were walking (and pub crawling) in the hope valley. Definitely stay here again

“A lovely place”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We have just come back from a mid week break at The Old Dairy and we have had a fabulous time. The Peak District was amazing, so much to see and do and Brosterfield Farm was the perfect location to see it from.
The Cottage is beautifully designed, very welcoming and practical too. The layout worked well for us and we felt we had plenty of room (4 adults and 2 children). Penny welcomed us and made us feel at home straight away. Having the garden to the front was a godsend for our football and cricket mad 8 year old!
If you are looking to explore the Peaks, this is a great place to base yourself.
We loved it so much we are thinking of going back next year.

“amazing place”

I chose the old dairy as it was so well equipped, we were in Derbyshire for my father in laws 80th. We arranged to do the party at the cottage, 17 of us were very comfortable for the evening. Penny was amazing and very kind. Providing extra crockery and even taking our Sainsburys order in when we were stuck in traffic on the moterway.
Everything about the old dairy was great, heating system very good, bedrooms very hot. Welcome pack appreciated. Ideally situated for visiting our family. Thank you Penny.

“Excellent family holiday home”
Reviewed 1 October 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We're a family of six and stayed here for a few nights visiting friends and family back in the UK. The location is quite remote and the property is initially quite hard to find. But, once you're there, you'll be glad you persevered. The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard. There is plenty of room for a large group and, with a large garden and outside table and chairs, even more room to expand. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. the location is good for reaching anywhere in the Peak District as most attractions are 20-30 minutes drive away and this rental is pretty much in the middle of the area. All in all, highly recommended.

“A superior cottage in an amazing location, oozing style.”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

The Old Dairy experience is a great holiday let . Good space, a garden enclosed by dry stone walling to stop our dogs (or children) escaping, spotlessly clean and supremely comfortable beds. The powerful showers rinse away the dirt after spending time in the great outdoors which is in abundance here with farmland walks on your doorstep - our favourite to Eyam with tea shops, a jacobean NT property and interesting social history as a village devasted by the 1665 plague. We also toured nearby Chatsworth House and its famous water cascade, walked up Mam Tor for fantastic views and walked in the river valley of the picturesque Dovedale followed by a picnic at Ilam Park.
This cottage (and it's next door neighbour Shippon) has everything you need to make your stay in the Peak District memorable.
