Best Western Passage House Hotel
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in Kingsteignton
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Have just returned from a few days away in Devon staying at the Passage House Hotel. It is situated right next to the river in a very pleasant location. Along with the main hotel they also have two sets of lodges, we stayed in the North Lodge. The hotel and rooms were modern. stylish and very clean. We had room 45 which was a family room with a double bed and single bed in the room. Our only complaint was that the mattress on the double bed was lumpy, perhaps a new mattress would alleviate this. Breakfast was excellent, a choice of cereals, fruit and juices followed by a choice of full English breakfast which was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious. This was rounded off with toast and tea or coffee . The staff in the restaurant were very friendly too. All in all a very good hotel

Room Tip: Main hotel would probably be less noisy as the lodges are closer to the A road nearby.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend 2014. It was the nearest we could get to Newton Abbott Racecourse and we were going to the races on Saturday 19th April. Really glad we chose this lovely hotel. There is a hotel and also two sets of lodges. We were lucky enough to get a first floor lodge overlooking the river. What a magnificent view to wake up to! The room was spotless and the bed (although two singles zipped together) was enormous and so comfortable. Lovely bathroom - one problem we had was the switches for the steam extractor was so high up on the wall we didn't see it and when my husband came out after a very hot bath the steam set off the fire alarm!!! A little sign underneath the switches would have sorted that!! After the races we came back to the hotel and had a really lovely, and reasonably priced, meal with a bottle of wine and two pints of beer for just over £30.00 - not bad at all. One little niggle was that as the evening went on it was quite cold in the bar area and we actually went back to our room as it was warmer there. The hotel itself is really nice, lots of lovely furniture and paintings. Great place for a wedding venue. The staff were so friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely go back there again - next time in the summer when we can sit outside on the decked area near the river and enjoy the views and the lovely walks. It's a big thumbs up from us!!!

Room Tip: Didn't stay in the hotel so cannot comment on that but the lodges are really lovely and quiet an...

Visiting relatives we found this on booking.com, after a little confusion on their site we had booked a double room with an estuary view.
We found the hotel quite easily and walked into a nice reception area, pleasant staff booked us in and we went up to our room. We had a lovely spacious room with a super kingsize bed and a fantastic view through a picture window.
Breakfast was the only let down and that us nitpicking - a little on the bland side - bacon and sausage could have done with a little more cooking and flavour. But even then so much better than most as cooked to order.
Recommend for a relaxing stay in comfy surroundings

As this Hotel is only a stones throw away from my customer, so having stayed here previously and enjoyed it, as it is quiet and the beds are comfortable and a good breakfast.
This time we where able to get a bargain three night stay, with a first night evening meal as part of it. And as when I came off the A380 and down the slip road, I felt a disk pad give way, thanks to a chunk of Devon road crumble, and was very glad that food was there, with out having to go out in to Kingsteignton that evening for a meal.
The food was of first grade and was of 3 star quality and presentation for the evening meal. However I can see that some gusts might find the range of breakfast is a bit limited, but the staff will always try to help. Charlotte is a good example.

Room Tip: In the main block on the second floor even numbers face the car park and Odd numbers look over the R...
