This establishment has really excelled itself over the past twelve months, the food is excellent, the staff are very warming and helpful, the prices very reasonable. The menu is very wide and plentyful. The room is very cosy with a lovelly open fire to keep you as snug as bug on cold nights. Overall it is a nice warm and friendly place to go for a meal and well worth a visit. My visit was for a meal only as I live in the area, so I can't comment on the rooms.

We were in Canonbie for a family funeral. Some family stayed at the Cross Keys and we all had dinner there the night of before the funeral. We all enjoyed our meals and the attentive service. The family met for breakfast on the day of the funeral and over 100 people were efficiently catered for with a lovely finger buffet at the wake. Stan, his wife and staff, not forgetting the lovely old dog were welcoming and so respectful at this sad time. On the other hand if you want a meal or just a coffee or drink by the log fire in a classic setting this is the border inn for you.I

A party of four of us visited on a Sunday evening. It is many years since we have been here and we were all pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. A very cosy and friendly feel with a good menu. The roast dinner was excellent and we also enjoyed the chilli con carni and scampi. The very generous portion of sticky toffee pudding was also excellent. So great food, nice atmosphere and good value for money all made for a good dining experience. Cheers.
