My friends and I decided to take advantage of the recent groupon offer for afternoon tea as it was my friend's birthday. It also entitled us to be able to use the facilities for the day as well as booking beauty/spa treatments, which we did. When we arrived we were told there had been a mix up with appointments and whilst the booking stated the correct 50 min manicures in the diary, the person who booked us in only allocated 30 mins each treatment not 50. We decided to send the birthday girl in for her manicure, leaving my friend without a treatment as they were fully booked. When we expressed our disappointment, we were asked to wait in the relaxation room and a member of staff would join us to discuss the matter/solution. Nobody came, even after approaching reception for the second time. We weren't shown any facilities, offered gowns or slippers, just left waiting for over an hour. When it was time for our afternoon tea, the waitress informed us we had an option of a hot beverage or a glass of fizz but the terms stated both, so we were asked to take our phone showing the groupon to the reception desk to show them so we didn't have to pay for our pots of tea.

A member of staff did come and speak to us finally and took my friends number but we were ready to leave by then. It was a complete waste of time and terrible customer service, especially after witnessing the service that other parties then received.

We have since received an offer of a free 30 min treatment each (not on a Saturday) but we don't live I'm the hull area - one being Manchester so is useless.

I won't be recommending the front of house service at this hotel or be planning to visit again any time soon.

Thank you for your valuable feedback; which my Team and I are naturally disappointed to receive.

I believe that I have personally spoken to another member of your party already; and your concerns have been addressed further.

On behalf of the Team, I sincerely apologise further for your disappointment on the day. We are currently investing further in our booking system; which should avoid any future errors on treatment times.

I do hope that you will provide the Hallmark with the opportunity to deliver a successful Pamper Day for you and your party in the future.

Kind Regards,

Serena

Clean rooms with comfy bed.

Friendly staff.

Good value for money.

I enjoyed the dinner at the hotel and it was reasonably priced with friendly service.

I would stay here again and recommend it for an overnight business stop probably rather than a couples retreat!

had a groupon deal cost £12 for 2 would just like to say it was for a sandwich lunch with a glass of bubbly and a complimentary tea/coffee. we were served by a courteous young man a fabulous choice of different sandwiches and more than you could ever expect to eat cakes very yummy an absolute treat for the price was lovely to sit in very nice calm surrounds and have Me time. In the groupon deal we had the choice to use the facilities too, this was a disappointment, they only have a very small dry sauna, no swimming pool or jaccuzi also the changing rooms the showers poured out water instead of a nice flow and the floor tiles was treacherously slippery when wet, don't get us wrong it was still a good deal we just letting anyone else know in case they expect to find as we did more facilities in such a big Hotel

Thank you for your valuable feedback, following your recent visit to the Hallmark Hotel.

I am delighted that you were impressed with our extensive Afternoon Tea, and our courteous Team member.

We are very careful on how our leisure facilities (Gym, Sauna, Jogging Track, Relaxation Suite) are advertised; and apologies that we currently are not able to offer wet-side facilities.

I do hope that you will visit the Hallmark Hotel once again; given the favourable report on our Afternoon Teas and experience.

We didn't stay in the hotel, we only booked a meal for two one evening. This is a smart looking place and the restaurant location overlooks the Humber bridge which looked atmospheric in the evening. Sitting right by the window was a bit draughty though! The meals left a little to be desired for the price. The seafood brochette was OK, but the salad Niçoise had too many olives in and together with the anchovies made it all a bit too salty overall. Maybe I was expecting too much, but for nineteen quid, the steak was a bit too gristly for me and the side salad with the fridge cold tasteless cherry tomatoes didn't make for enjoyable eating.

We stayed in room 25 for the Murder Mystery weekend in February. The room was very clean, comfy bed, roomy and very quiet. The evening consisted of a meal and evening entertainment, We booked a party of eight, 4 double rooms, and the rooms were close together and
we were placed on a circular table all together for the meal. The meal was set, but with a vegetarian alternative. It was tasty, hot and we were all served with our meal together.
The customer service was excellent. One member of our party was obviously pregnant and she was offered soup instead of the pate for the starter.
It was a fun evening and we ordered wine for the table beforehand which was at a discounted price. The room looked stunning and there was always lots of staff on hand.
The outside of the hotel does not do the inside of the hotel justice so do not be put off by a dated exterior.
The weekend was excellent value for money.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 25. It is a big room with a new bathroom. Although it does not have the views of t...

Myself and wife decided to book an overnight romantic package for valentines day , having stayed and eaten at the hotel before we knew it would be excellent , however this time surpassed even our expectations , the room was perfect little chocolates , fluffy robes , slippers what more could you want , we went down into the lounge and had afternoon tea for tea for 2 again this looked fresh and had a great assortment of little treats , the heart shaped biscuits with the coffee was a very nice touch too .
We ate in the restaurant which at the time was extremely busy , we where offered the menu and a valentines special menu and told we could mix and match from both which was a fantastic idea , much better than a set menu which most places seem tone doing nowadays .
we didn't have to wait for long for our starters to arrive , I had the black pudding , spiced apple and goats cheese stack and the wife had antipasto both where presented very nice and tasted even better , for main courses I had the surf & turf (lobster and sirloin) which was divine and the wife had the seafood medley which consisted of monkfish , prawns , scallops , mussels and poached samphire again this looked very nice and tasted as good as it looked , for dessert we had the chocolate mezze sharer , which had lots of sweet morsels for us too share , again this was beautifully presented and tasted the same Hats off to the chefs they really out did themselves this time .
The service was very good and at no point did we have to try and catch someone's attention they where just there when you needed them !
Breakfast the next morning was again very busy but we had a good selection of hot and cold food from the buffet which all looked fresh & appetising (the scrambled egg was perfect) .
Check out was as speedy as check in !!!
Well done hallmark hotel hull , we will be back
