I visited as part of a large (ish) group of families of 14. Six adults, some teenagers and younger children aged three up to ten.
The greeting was warm, especially for the kids.
The beers and drinks on offer were very good.
The food quality and quantity was great.
We have a range of meals from the menu and everything good
A nice place.

I visited with a group of friends at lunchtime. Lots of food on offer on the hotplate. Roast, fish, pies, chilli, curry etc. - something for everyone's taste. I chose steak pie, it was a great choice, packed full with tender meat and served with 3 veg and potato.

Will certainly go back and probably have the pie again, it was so good!

Right from checking in one evening to checking out the next morning the Ferguson Fawsitt Arms is a good experience. The Staff are welcoming, the accommodation building is behind the pub so it’s nice and quiet. It’s also spotless, extremely well cared for and my room was well appointed with plenty of wardrobe space with plenty of coat hangers, something that is often overlooked elsewhere (this attention to detail is evident elsewhere)
I ate in the pub for dinner, which was excellent, a good selection food and drink is available, there was also a carvery available if you wished (although I ate off the main menu). Food was well cooked, extremely tasty and well presented. Overall great value for money. There was no Cheese and Biscuits on the menu for dessert (there is a lot else!), which I was disappointed at, but when I asked if there was any available the staff immediately said they could get the kitchen to prepare me some, which they did, and it was excellent.
Fantastic service, and somewhere that definitely goes the extra mile to ensure the customer is happy. I’ll definitely be staying again the next time I’m in the area on business.

I chose Ferguson Fawsitt for a Valentines weekend escape because of the excellent reviews online; they weren't wrong! An excellent hotel in a picturesque village. I cannot fault the room, staff or service; and breakfast was outstanding!

Just wanted to comment on how lovely our overnight stay was for valentines night. We have often been to the fergurson fawcett for sunday lunch and have found it good value with tasty food and good service. We arrived late afternoon and was warmly welcomed straight away by friendly helpful staff. The room was lovely, clean and warm which was welcoming as the weather was windy and cold. Before our meal we were given a glass of bubbly and the table was nicley presented for valentines night with rose petals, candles and 2 roses. The meal was fantastic, very tasty, hot and well presented. The service was great and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The cooked breakfast was again lovely with great service. We would certainly visit again for an overnight stay and would recommend the pub to all our family and friends for the good service and great food. So nice to stay in a place were you are valued as a customer and nothing is too much trouble to make the stay a lovely experience.

I just wanted to comment on the excellent stay I have recently had at the Fergie in Walkington. The new manager is really warm and friendly, and all the staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants to visit the area, or even pop in for a lovely pint or a meal - the pie is great!
