I chose this hotel through the internet because I was looking for a pet friendly hotel in the south Gloucestershire area. I lived in the area some 50 years ago and wanted to explore my old haunts with my large sheepdog. I found all the staff to be extremely helpful and pleasant, the room very comfortable and the food delicious.

Room Tip: I chose a deluxe double room on the ground floor which was slightly isolated from other rooms. It wa...

I have been staying here on a regular basis for work since January this year.

The staff are very helpful and soon got to know me which I am sure would not happen in a larger chain hotel.

Rooms are comfortable albeit the single rooms are a bit small

Food is excellent with a variety of options. The market menu is updated weekly and I have never struggled to find something nice to eat.

Worth a visit if you are in the north bristol area

This is a real traditionally run hotel, I really can't fault the service, the staff are attentive without being over bearing. The food was excellent, evening meal, tasty and good value, breakfast cooked to order, what a refreshing change from the heat lamp fair, served by numerous hotels these days.
The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and china cups, not paper, another increasingly annoying aspect of chain hotels, for in room service.
This a stand alone hotel, offering good value, exceptional service, by people who genuinely care, you get feeling it's just not scripted from the autocue.

Will vistit again.

Recently attended a wedding here. Took over the hotel for the weekend. The staff were excellent particularly Lisa who seemed to be there keeping a watchful eye on things so that things ran really smoothly. Could not fault their organisation as the dining room and conference rooms took on various different roles. The food was excellent as again was the service with plenty of staff working hard so we were all served promptly. The garden was lovely, especially as it was such a glorious weekend. Would not hesitate to recommend this- particularly as a wedding venue.

Room Tip: Probably would choose a delux room next time as the standard, although OK was what it is a standard...

I visited whilst working near Bristol having stayed at the Premier Inn Cribbs Causeway the week before. Unfortunately the Premier inn was fully booked so I chose this as an alternative. The service was adequate but the Room and food was no where near the standard which was expected for the prices charged. I would not look to return as I did not feel there was value for money :-(

We stayed over the Bank holiday weekend in a party of about 30 people. Julie and her team could not have been more accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room, which faced onto the garden, was simple and on the small side but clean, comfortable and quiet. The food was very good. Highly recommended.
