“Very well located, staff were excellent.”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

I stayed here in business for only one night. Upon arriving parking was good and plentiful and check in was quick and efficient. When i entered my room i was EXTREMELY surprised at not only how large it was but about the fact it had an outdoor terrace overlooking a cricket field, fantastic! The bed was very comfortable and there were adequate tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was also clean and tidy. The pub in located on the same car park but acts independently of the hotel, this said the staff had no problem with my allocated meal and it was processed with ease. Only downside for me was breakfast was not available until 7 and as i was due on site at 7 i had to request breakfast 'to go'. This caused a few huffs and puffs but nothing major. All in all if your looking to stay in this area, look no further.

1st stay with Premier Inn - very impressed. Very nice room, would def stay again. Room was clean, quiet, view of the cricket ground. The building does look tired. But every thing was fine for 1 night. Disappointed with wi-fi - and would return. Meet my needs

Apart from finding that we had parked the car in the middle of a large, deep, puddle after a thunderstorm, because of poor drainage in the Car Park, we could not fault this for the price. It is easy to find and conveniently located for exploring the Bristol area

If you are offered room 1A then ask for another, it is next to the stairs so you get noise from people coming and going until the early hours and particularly in the mornng when the early risers get on the road. The ratings I have given are for the accommodation, I wouldn't rate the pub at all. If you can avoid eating at the grubby pub (Ship) next door then do so. The food is typical Chef and Brewer but even so my meal reached a new low. Unfortunately there is not much alternative in the immediate area (I looked) but the short drive into Thornbury up the road may give you a much better choice. On the other hand, after a day on the road, getting the car out again is the last thing you may want to do so a thorough clean and refurbishment of the Ship would do wonders to improve the overall experience here.

Stayed here for one night on business. The building is actually at the rear of the pub so not on roadside and if hadn't been for the satnav I probably would have driven passed.

First impression is not great when you drive in, looks a little scruffy and not helped by all the scaffolding. However, there is plenty of parking to the rear of the building as well as spaces to the front.

The service we received on check in was very friendly, welcoming and efficient. I was part of a group. We usually stay at the Emersons Green Premier Inn however, they were full and I understand that they no longer take one night bookings. Alveston was happy to take our group bookings for one night and could accommodate us all.

The rooms are premier inn standard, quite a nice outlook onto the Cricket club. I didn't sleep well but never do as I find the beds too hard.

The bar/resturant is not linked to the premier in although you do have breakfast there and you can use your premier inn card to pay for an evening meal etc.

The main menu prices were ok, but maybe restrictive based on your business allowance but luckily they did offer a set menu with a few options for each course. The mushroom starter I had was ok and the burger as a main course was tasty. I didn't have dessert. Service was ok, a little slow and the orders were mixed up/wrong which left people eating alone or the other meals would have gone cold.

Breakfast was very disappointing & service very slow. I had an English breakfast, bacon/sausages were not of any quality and the poached eggs were hard and tasteless. Coffee was tasteless and just warm. Compared to an Inn that's linked to a premier inn which isn't wonderful, this was poor in comparison.

Would I stay here again? Yes if I had to however, I wouldn't eat at the inn.

Good spot to rest your head and tour the surrounding district. The Restaurant, "the Ship Inn" offers good food at rteasonable prices but book in advance as it is rather busy. First stayed here in 1969 when it was a Trust House. It was just as good as we remembered all those years ago.

We use this Premier inn regularly, as it is close to relatives. Yes it is a quirky old motel style building, but the staff are always helpful and friendly, rooms clean and spacious and when purchased the breakfasts good value with lots of space in the dining room areas.
