For a very good reason, we have eaten here many times both for a meal in the restaurant and several takeaways the food is fantastic the best Chinese/cantonese food around even better than chinatown in Manchester.

We can recommend the mixed starter which includes ribs, salt and pepper chicken wings, prawn wontons, prawn toast and THE BEST SPRING ROLLS EVER!!!, not your usual veg/beansprout filling but meat, the crispy duck with pancakes are also a must whatever you have you won't be dissapointed service is also very good, we're avin a takeaway from here tonight!!!

simply put..... FANTASTIC . having not been for a while we went twice this last week, and were not in the least surprised that we continued , where we left off . some of the best food we have had in any Chinese restaurant.
the quality of the food is second to none, we had the mixed platter which the four of us shared , so filling the main was to much and some was taken home , as we hate to waste.
the selection is just amazing, something for all tastes and palates.
OK not the cheapest place we go to i admit. but quality wins hands down every time for me.
Hoyas is big enough to not feel squashed , but small enough to get that attention we all enjoy.
the staff are fantastic , DAVID is a very nice bloke who is always on hand to look after your every need.
Lynn the owner is always there to offer a warm welcome , and it is her husband who is the chef, her children are often in at weekends helping with service.
To sum it up , for me it is just the best . Being a family run restaurant is a huge plus.

Been to this restaurant many times and love it every time. The food, the service and the prices are fantastic and there is a friendliness you simply can't beat.
David is always cheerful and helpful recommending dishes. The portion sizes are perfect, well prepared and always fresh and tasty. The mid week deals offer a good variety at a great price. Will be returning again very soon.

Visited purely based on reviews on trip advisor. Honestly wish we hadn't. I expected the food to be tasty with fresh ingredients. But honestly was the usual takeaway style - ribs were supposed to be in honey sauce, I expected sticky flavoursome ribs but these were bland and dry the rice was salty, and the garlic sauce on our meat dish tasted like weak English gravy. Meat processed. Garlic prawns also dry. Prices expensive considering sides were extra.
Tables sticky underneath, table cloths needed washing ,and carpets worn down needed replacing. Music was English pop. Plates were side plate size.
Maybe other dishes were different but all our food was dire.
Only good thing was friendly waiter.

Shame as I was looking forward to coming here. But won't return

We are sorry hear your disappointing visit to us recently, however I would like to respond to some of following points you made;

- I can assure you that non of the meals contain any processed meats, as all are meats are fresh cuts of individual meats.
- The garlic prawns that was ordered was a starter of skewered prawns which comes with a side dipping sauce which we think is a substantial amount for this starter. If you required extra sauce we would be more than happy to provide some extra for you.
- If the issues was raised about the flavouring of the food we would more than happy to replace or exchange the food to more off your liking.
- Our top table cloths are changed and washed every time a table has been used. We also have our carpets cleaned on a regular basis.
- We play a variety of easy listening music ranging from English love songs to Chinese instrumental..
- We find are pricing competitive to other eating establishment around the area.
- The plates we provide are off standard size for the food, if you required a larger plate we would have happily provided you with a larger one.

Wishing you all the best.

Kind regards,

Management of Hoya's Cantonese Restaurant.
