Sheerness Holiday Park
Reviewed 8 April 2014

This park is a very family friendly park and has had a recent facelift which has improved the first impressions of the park. The staff are helpful and friendly defo stay again. It's easy to get to and good location.
If I was to buy a caravan I would chose this site to place it on

My husband and I stayed here with our children during half term and we will definitely go back this year. I don't normally do Reviews but wanted to let people know we had a fab time and can't understand the negative comments! Our kids loved the pool and there were things for them to do and they loved Marvin. All the staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. The cabaret on Saturday was very entertaining and because the club was so busy there was a lovely atmosphere. The drinks were reasonably priced as we've stayed on other parks which have been much more expensive. Our caravan was well equipped and where we were was nice and quiet. Our kids loved their holiday and are already asking when are they going to see Marvin again!

I recently stayed at sheerness holiday park with my husband and two children we had a fantastic holiday, the caravan was a gold plus and it was well worth the money very clean and the park it's self kept nice. The children were entertained by friendly entertainment staff and the customer service was fab couldn't fault it. The only negative was the noisy neighbour but this isn't the parks fault. Overall a fantastic stay,
Can't wait to come back.

This site has it all..large touring area nice club with entertainment.. indoor warm swimming pool.. play ground..amusements..
Food served till late
But as with most sites a few improvements would make a big diffence
First is the toilet/showers on touring field
There is only 3 mens and 3 ladies showers
That are the smallest i have ever seen. With no space for hooks or shelves for your clothes.. with long waiting times in high season... the club has good entertainment with pub priced drinks but needs more tables..ok most of the time but packed in summer you have to get there early or you wont get a table..
The speed bumps on site are a bit over the top.. there is loads and are very high and you can tell by the scrapes on them that they have hit the bottom of cars and caravans...
The changing rooms in swimming pool are very mouldy and the locks on the doors are missing but the pool is nice and warm..
Could do with a basket ball net or something there is a small playground for young children but not much for teenagers
All staff very polite and helpfull

A previous person has comented about the travelers on site
There is some but they are well behaved and join in the fun over the club and do not cause any problems

Only a short walk to the town/beach

I won a mon-fri (21st Oct - 25th Oct 2013) in a raffle. I am glad I had won it as I wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore than the gold plus upgrade we had. The staff were polite even though when we arrived they hadn't got our booking???? Hoseasons paperwork was in my hand. The pool was closed????? prob due to the previous complaints from the previous reviewer. The staff did let us use the Sheppey Leisure Centre and refunded our monies. I have stayed at numerous sites, 3 now in sept and oct this year. This is probably one of the worst I have ever stayed on, we payed the upgrade fee for a gold plus and i have stayed in better basic caravans elsewhere so I wouldnt waste your money, unless like us, its October with changeable weather and u need additional heating in the bedrooms but the heating is like fan heating and not by far central heating. The van itself was quite old and had a few stains on it but was generally clean when we got in it. The site was clean, no rubbish hanging around, but again we are in low season. The siye has a scrap yard and council estate next to it. The bar area and amusement arcade very dated and tired there was only us, 1 other family and 4 other people in a group and they were in fact staff. If a cheap away break is what u strive for then you get what u pay for, if like me, you dont mind paying the extra and have want good facilities then I recommend going elsewhere, shall leave u to make your own mind up, we did enjoy our holiday on the isle of sheppey, minster cliffs is lovely for a stroll and the pub at hearty ferry is worth the long drive down to it

Thank you for your comments on your stay here at Sheerness Holiday Park, all points are valid and greatly appreciated and taken on board.

we are sorry to hear you had a bad experience here, unfortunately the booking provider did not pass on details of your free holiday to the park so we could prepare for your stay with us, but the booking was made regardless by our team and we accommodated you at short notice. and upgraded you at small fee.

The swimming pool was closed due to issues with our boiler, so we had to close the pool due to health and safety reasons, but offered to pay for use of the local swimming pool 10 minutes from the park, and all money was refunded.

We offer heating in all the gold grade caravans, but do not advertise Central heating systems being in the caravans,

All of the gold grade caravans are no more then 2 years old.

The caravans and the Holiday Park itself are kept clean and tidy all year round, so we are sorry you had a few problems during your visit and have taken your points on board.

Regards

Booked a 3 night break for myself, 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren, 18th -21st Oct.
My daughters took 4 of the children to the pool on Saturday morning and were horrified at the state of it!! It was lucky that the youngest grandson had an ear infection and couldn't go swimming or he would have ended up in hospital with an asthma attack. There was mould, mildew, fungus and dead insects everywhere. The managers excuses were pathetic and they ended up leaving a day early as the pool was closed(at our request) and there wasn't anything else for them to do.
We booked a gold plus 3 caravan which was 8 berth and the caravan itself was ok but how on earth do they expect people to cook for EIGHT when the biggest saucepan was 1 litre!
We didn't eat anything in the club, the pool hygiene was bad enough and the manager refused to let us see the kitchens.....

I am very sorry to hear about your experience whilst on holiday here at Sheerness Holiday Park, and your concerns about the swimming pool, this was brought to our attention during your stay and action was taken immediately, we closed the pool for the rest of the season, and all the issues you stated have been rectified, and we have spent a large amount of time and money refurbishing the swimming pool which is looking great.

Kind Regards

I booked this trip and got an excellent price, The site was clean and tidy, security was top notch. free wi-fi at club house and staff would help when ever needed. the caravan was clean tidy even thou we booked a bronze it was still ok, could not understand why pay extra when you get more or less the same sort of caravan. most prob you get a new model on silver or gold. would be booking to go back to the same site as it is away from all the hustle and bustle of the bigger camp and easier to get to.
Would recommend this site and staff to anyone...
