I spotted the Grapes the week before whilst driving to Chorley. Croston is a delightful village and the Grapes is a lovely country pub. The weather was fantastic and while seating is at the front (by the car park) the location and food really impress. Coming from the south, I was genuinely surprised by the value for money. Really enjoyed the seafood special salad, while my wife opted for the ploughmans. Hopefully we will be making regular trips to Ormskirk over the next year and regular detours to Croston will definitely be in our plans.

Will be interested to experience dining inside as the decor did look a little tired and dated. But will definitely chance it!

Recently went for afternoon tea as a group of 6 to celebrate my daughters birthday. The food was beautifully presented, and of a high standard. We sat outside as it was a lovely day. I would highly recommend the afternoon tea experience. Very tasty and very pretty. Thankyou.

Just got back from a fantastic meal at this lovely village pub/restaurant after we visited the restaurant for my wife's birthday early Friday evening.

This was our first visit to the Grapes and to be honest I initially thought that the bar/reception area was a bit dated and tatty, please do not let this put you off, we were directed to the main restaurant area and was met by a lovely waitress who was absolutely superb, she knew the menu inside out, was really genuine and customer service focussed, really helped us make up our minds and was able to accurately describe the various menu options and characteristics of their wine menu.

Our choices were, Mixed Sea Food Grill, Fish Platter, Fish and Chips (Lighter Bite). and Butterfly Chicken with Bacon Lardons and Blue Cheese, although you could have spent a week trying to decide as the menu is choice is really varied.

The food arrived promptly and was all freshly prepared, well presented, hot, well seasoned, cooked to perfection and the portion sizes are generous/good value for money

will definitely be visiting again to try more of their menu items,

many thanks and keep up the good service and food

We booked for afternoon tea and were not disappointed! What a spread - freshly made soup, sandwiches, quiche and so on.....and as many puddings. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Brilliant concept and executed to perfection.

My toddlers meal was great too - proper food, rather than the children's meals you often find.

We can't wait to return :)
