Anniversaries are such special times , we are so glad you spent it with us.....Being so close to Felbrigg Park it is ideal for dog walking and for watching the wildlife, lots of birds have been seen on the new marshland created in the park, how lucky are we to have it all just a stones throw away.

Hope to see you again later in the year.

Having just returned from our second visit of a 5 night break, we would like to say a huge thank you to Philip and DeeDee Lomax and their superb staff. They were all so helpful and friendly, providing a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Although all staff are always very busy looking after us, they still have time to help where necessary, with a good knowledge of the area, and, most of all, seemed happy and always had a cheery smile! If you want to experience this unique atmosphere, then why not visit the hotel yourselves for a while and enjoy the peace and quiet of beautiful surroundings! The lovely indoor swimming pool is a bonus and very enjoyable.

The food is superb with a different dinner menu every evening, locally sourced whenever possible. Well done!

Thank you all once again - see you in the not too distant future for another visit!

Having guests like you guys return is always lovely for any hotelier it means we are doing something right...It means that although you have a choice to spend your well earned money somewhere else you chose to come back to us. Something we are very conscious of and do our best to encourage by offering special breaks and promotions.
Watch our website coming soon is a great incentive for past guests....

Until the next time

We have just returned from a five night visit to Fellbrigg Lodge staying in Hedgehog cottage , ideal for two ladies who like their own space as we each had our own bedroom and bathroom . The food was great , varied and plentiful , served by very helpful staff . Breakfast ! The best poached eggs .
The hotel is ideally placed to visit many beautiful places quite nearby . Extremely good value we loved it .

Room Tip: Hedgehog provides excellent space and kitchen facilities if required .

Thank you for your comments about your stay. It is appreciated. Yes Hedgehog works well for friends as well as families. The hooks you requested by separate email are being put up today in the second bedroom. Thank you for that constructive observation. We are always here to listen and change if deemed necessary. As you know we don't get it right for everyone but delighted we did for you..Hope to see you the next time you come to Norfolk.

Just back from three wonderful days in North Norfolk staying, for the first time at Felbrigg Lodge. Great and unique experience. Upmarket B and B with a dinner dining experience. Stayed in the Willow Suite which included the very best bathroom we have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Beautiful wooded setting with great dog walks right by the hotel. Breakfasts were wonderful with lovely local produce used.
Dinner was odd but great. Dining room only available to residents; choice of three or four items for each course with same veg for each choice. Does not claim to be fine dining but rather good use of local produce well cooked in a somewhat rustic sense - just great. Very friendly staff who were totally let down by their dress sense (or lack of). Being served by ladies wearing jeans and their every day clothes slightly but ineffectively covered by striped aprons really was below par for a venue charging over £500 for a two night stay. One young waitress had at least dressed in an attempt to look the part - wearing all black. Staff need to smarten up!
We will undoubtedly return as it was a special place. Whites need to be worn in the kitchen and uniforms in the dining room just to give the impression that justifies the Price tag.

Thank you for your comments regarding Felbrigg Lodge. All of which have been noted and will be discussed at our breakfast staff meeting. The one thing I would like to point out when you mentioned the total of your bill for two nights this did include extras of £82.95 which included three dogs. this is over and above the Dinner bed and breakfast you were charged for a superior room, which was £105 per person per night.( inclusive of 20% VAT). I just wanted to put the record straight.

We recently stayed for 5 nights and so had a good opportunity to experience both 'the offer' and also to see surrounding parts of Norfolk. The accommodation was private, clean and just what we wanted. Similarly the food was good and all the staff worked together as a team and were always cheery, very helpful and accomodating. Lovely part of England.
Overall probably understated, would have no reservations about staying there again.

I am delighted your 5 nights with us in Norfolk was all you wanted it to be. Yes the area is very understated and offers real potential for anyone wanting to get off the world for a while and enjoy the things that are really important in life.....If high tech is you, Norfolk is not your place but if spending quality time together in quiet sleepy villages and walking in lovely woods and on unspoilt beaches then yes Norfolk is a must....,

I am delighted you appreciated my staff, they are a big part of what makes Felbrigg Lodge a special place for so many people.....not everyone but most....

We were two couples who spent a night at Felbrigg Lodge on a great value Living Social deal and, having read all the positive reviews prior to booking, we were all looking forward to something really special.

The location is certainly everything here - some way down an unmade road lies the cluster of buildings which make up Felbrigg Lodge, set in tranquil, lovely grounds which are no doubt stunning in the spring. On arrival the lack of clear signage to Reception - or anywhere else for that matter - wasn't really a problem: we just wandered round until we found someone (the very helpful Billie), and gave thanks that it wasn't raining when we got there.

Both our rooms were warm, welcoming and pleasant, but there were a few signs of wear and tear (sagging sofas, wallpaper hanging off, rather grubby upholstery and carpets - the latter understandable though at the end of a very wet winter - & some cleaning issues with glass tabletops in one room) : nothing that couldn't easily be put right with a little attention to detail. The bedlinen and towels were spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the provision of both still and sparkling water was a thoughtful little touch. We have never seen such generous quantities of beverage items provided anywhere ever, and the other highlight was the endless supply of extremely hot water for baths and showers, which was a pleasant surprise given the Lodge was fully booked. The usual range of toiletries was provided, along with towelling robes, a hairdryer and a Lifestyle magazine, but unfortunately the wi-fi wasn't working (not unusual for Norfolk).

Meals are taken in the main building (again, be thankful for dry weather should you be staying in one of the assortment of outbuildings), and the three-course dinner at £30 per person was good rather than outstanding. Breakfast was good too, but when we came to check out we had to go hunting for someone to take our payment. While the staff are all very pleasant and helpful, everything is a bit muddly and amateurish: a breakfast waitress came to check us out, and although we wanted to pay cash there was no change available and in the end, to avoid embarrassment, our friends paid on their credit card. This is not rocket science to put right.

All in all, Felbrigg Lodge enjoys a spendid location and does pretty much what it says on the tin in terms of peace & quiet, although I'm not certain the "luxury" strapline is entirely deserved. Would we go again on a Living Social deal - probably yes. Would we pay their full price for bed and breakfast? Probably not. And would we eat dinner here again? Possibly, but with the renowned Walpole Arms at Itteringham roughly six miles away, we could easily be tempted to eat out, especially if we were staying more than a couple of nights.

Oh, and one other thing which in fairness should be passed on: we chatted in the lovely conservatory before dinner to some rather unhappy guests from whom we learned that if you are unlucky enough to have to alter the date of a booking here, it will cost you an eyewatering £20 admin fee, which sounds like a punitive amount when in the hospitality business surely changes to bookings go with the territory? You would be strongly advised to check the allegedly draconian booking conditions before you commit to a reservation here.

Room Tip: Both the rooms we saw were of roughly the same standard.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at Felbrigg Lodge. Your comments have been duly noted and the ones that need acting upon, have been. However I would like to challenge you on a few points.
My staff are amateurish........My staff are one of my, and all business's greatest assets and they take their jobs very seriously, they are trained and do not lack in customer service...I found this comment harsh...when only this morning of all the 8 rooms that left , everyone commented on the friendliness , how nothing was too much trouble for them. How they were happy and confident in all they were doing even if that job is checking guests out. We only have 10 rooms and do not warrant a full time receptionist. As regards change this is the first time in 8 years we haven't had enough change to give a guest 99 percent pay by card.....but I have addressed this situation....
The comment I really do want to address is the one of the admin charge if a date is changed on a booking....Every company (not only hotels ) have terms and conditions( by law). They are transparent , not underhand and definitely not Draconian...when someone changes a booking there is time spent updating availability, on numerous websites, there is the chance that the room will not be rebooked and indeed we could have already turned away a guest who had requested the same dates.£20 harsh I don't think so!! We have on several occasions dealt with guests who ask to change their dates purely because the weather forecast is bad!!!!! There are always two sides to every story and now you have ours. If you want to contact me at the hotel I will be more than happy to enlighten you further.

Felbrigg Lodge in a unique small boutique hotel in North Norfolk (we are boutique not because of the modern minimalistic décor, but because we are one of a kind, we have an independent attitude and our clients are individualist too. We offer a unique guest experience)The hotel is not a typical one it has no long dark corridors where someone slams a door at 2am,or drops a shoe on the floor just when you have got to sleep. Nor does it have large empty reception rooms which look like an upmarket furniture warehouse which are only full on high days and holidays. We don't need them all our rooms are suites and have ample seating again not like most hotels that are so small you have to sit on the bed to be comfortable and watch telly. We are set in a beautiful woodland location where relaxation and peace are paramount. There are eight rooms set in the grounds which are all ground floor. The remaining two can be found in the main house on the first floor , the house also includes the small intimate restaurant that even when we are full you will never experience an extensive wait for your food. We now boast a small conservatory which overlooks the garden and babbling brook. As we are licensed you can relax and enjoy a drink, or a glass of wine. All rooms are individually styled 5 having recently been recently refurbished. We have a heated indoor swimming pool, and an outside hot tub.
