Felbrigg Lodge appealed to us as we were looking for a place to unwind. Set in woodland the various buildings are set apart from each other giving a sense of seclusion and peace. The whole site is very well looked after by staff who are accommodating and friendly. The whole place exudes a warmth that immediately places one at peace. The swimming pool and the hot tub are immaculately kept and the pool is big enough to swim in rather than for appearances. We stayed in Briar suite on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed more than comfortable and the bathroom with its walk in shower, endless hot water and large towels a delight. Free Wifi too. We joined our fellow guests for pre-dinner drinks and canapés and whilst enjoying the company of others the restaurant is set to offer the diner their own space. All of the meals were well presented, the evening meal offered choice not only in terms of ingredients but also catered for gluten and diary free. The standard of the food was high and plentiful, the wine list catered for seemingly all tastes and wallets. Despite feeling as though the Lodge is miles from anywhere easy access to North Norfolk is at the end of the driveway. Other larger establishments could learn a lot from the staff and running of this small unpretentious hotel. We thank all the staff for making our stay something to remember and wish them all every continued future success.

Don't quite know where to begin. .....it was a surprise birthday treat so until we pulled in I didn't know where I was going ...the accommodation isn't rooms they aren't lodges they are like small cottages ...height of luxury utterly facilitated including full sat TV and wifi. The restaurant food is utterly stunning and the pool and hot tub well kept
it's a lovely extra ....don't be put off by the price the luxury and facilities make this value for
Money ....can't reccome d enough

and warm .

We chose to try Felbrigg Lodge as we like quiet places in the countryside and needed a dog-friendly hotel. The grounds and garden are certainly very pleasant for a little stroll with the dog, morning and night (equipped with bags of course!). The peace and tranquility was not absolute as there is an outdoor activity centre next door, but the young people there seemed well controlled.
Our cabin was a semi, but the sound insulation was good. It was a little dark, being under the trees, but was spacious and well furnished with some nice vintage pieces, though personally I would have preferred 2 squashy armchairs to a rather formal little sofa. It was lovely to see wood, kindling and matches provided by the hearth, though fortunately we didn't need it! There was plenty of space for the dog's bed in the living area.
The swimming pool looked very inviting, but was locked and I didn't feel inclined to find staff as it was their busy time before evening meals. We didn't stay for dinners as it was our first time in Norfolk and we stayed out exploring the area till quite late, eating at dog-friendly pubs. On another visit we would be inclined to stay for more than 2 days so we could relax at the Lodge more. Guests are invited to mingle for drinks in the conservatory before dinner, but nothing is compulsory. Breakfast was good, with lovely friendly staff, and the best porridge I have ever eaten.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Felbrigg Lodge. Yes the Aylmerton Field Study Centre is next door but as you point out the children are well supervised and have never caused any problem to our guests over the last 9 years. I am sorry you didnt use the pool as it is always open from 7.30am until just after 9 maybe you didnt pull the door hard enough.
Glad you loved your porridge, and will be delighted to cook you more on your return.

Quaint and peaceful, woodland lodge type converted barns surrounded by trees. High spec fittings with a homely feel , but wow bathroom with that really modern feel, and a big empty swimming pool all for me ! Breakfast really great quality cooked, but limited choice and a very guesthouse feeling. Dinner perfectly acceptable but a bit lacking in finesse and its was a bit baby tea ( fixed at 7pm .. no choice).

Thank you for your comments. I was a bit bemused by little choice at breakfast....Cereals, poached fruit, fresh fruit grapefruit segments, Yoghurt, fruit juice, followed by choice of Full breakfast, Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon, Poached eggs on Muffin, or any variation on the above, plus choice of Kipper or Smoked Haddock. Toast, Or croissants... What else would you have liked to see offered please let me know I will oblige if possible in the future.
As for Baby Tea. !!!!We serve at 7pm because we are only small as you pointed outFelbrigg Lodge ,is very quiet, you had the pool and hot tub to yourself). It is only cost effective to offer one sitting for dinner and after an extensive survey of our guests it was agreed 7pm to come over have a drink and make your choices was the most favoured time , hence giving you time at the end of the evening to relax and not go straight to bed on a full stomach. I am sorry if this wasn't to your liking. You could have eaten elsewhere if you wanted to eat later, Cromer and Sheringham is just a small drive away but lots of our guests don't want to drink and drive and like the fact of relaxing over a bottle of wine and a gin and tonic. It goes to prove we cant please all the people all the time.

I have just spent a fantastic weekend at the Felbrigg Lodge Hotel with my sister. We stayed in the Bramble suite which was clean, comfortable and well appointed. It was situated in an extremely attractive setting. For those seeking peace and tranquility this is the perfect place. We found all the staff to be polite, friendly, helpful and more than willing to go that extra mile to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The facilities are excellent and we were very impressed with the swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The pool is actually big enough to swim in and it was great fun to lounge in the jacuzzi at 9pm and gaze at the stars. The food was lovely and we would highly recommend the afternoon tea (especially for those with a healthy appetite...).

While we were there we also enjoyed a stone massage in the beauty treatment room. The beauty therapist was very pleasant and professional and the service she provides is very reasonably priced.

I would not hesitate in recommending The Felbrigg Lodge Hotel to our family and friends and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Room tip: All the rooms were very good. A great place for a romantic weekend and for those who appreciate peace and tranquility.
