“Excellent Hotel”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

The Quay Hotel is modern immaculately clean and comfortable hotel. Entering the hotel you a struck by the impressive reception area with marble floors and a view of the bar restaurant, which has a patio on the waters edge. The rooms are spacious, modern, well equipped, the bathroom was lovely - very impressive and we were delighted with it, also very importantly we had a good nights sleep, the only noise was a gentle tinkle tinkle from the mast of a yacht that was situated outside on the Estuary when the wind picked up a little, otherwise you could hear a pin drop. The Quay is in a great location for exploring nearby Conwy - stepped in history with a magnificent Castle, the town is quant with a great selection of bars/cafe and restaurants. Llandudno is just a couple of mikes away and generally a great place to stay to explore North Wale and all the tourist attractions it has to offer. In my opinion. The Quay is ideal for all age ranges and for business trips too. A really lovely hotel with good facilities, excellent staff in a great location.

Room Tip: One overlooking the Estuary is lovely.

My fiancé and I like to hotel hop every year and decided to stay here for the night, I love Conway so it was ideal. We had treated ourselves to an executive suite which was fab, the lounge had everything you needed and was Huge. The view was amazing, Conway and the castle looked fab over the bay. And mountains in front of us.
We had food later in the bar which was lovely, the staff were very attentive and friendly.
The only things we felt that faulted it were, we couldn't use the safe in our bedroom as the bedside cabinet was in the way ? The shower was not great and the bath took ages to fill. One more fault was our room was on the ground floor over looking the estuary with chairs and table on a little patio which in theory sounds great but we were sat having a drink when other guest came walking through our area. It would have been a little more private if partitions of some sort were put in between each suite after all these rooms are not cheap and a little privacy would have been nice.

Room Tip: Get a room with sea view it was fab

Myself, partner and 7 year old stayed here in early July 2014. The setting of the hotel alongside the estuary is spectacular and was even more so on the sunny weekend we were there.

The main hotel lobby is modern, large and airy and we found the Reception staff to be highly professional and efficient. We particularly liked being escorted to our room by a member of staff, a very good example of personal detail.

Our room was on the ground floor and was facing the estuary. In short it was impressive, more of an apartment than a room with a bathroom, bedroom and huge lounge/kitchenette leading off a wide corridor. The lounge doors opened onto a pretty patio, with good quality outdoor furniture and flowering shrubs, beyond this was a large communal grassy area and then - the estuary with views in one direction to Conwy Castle and the other - out to sea. Simply amazing.

The plus points of the lounge was the fridge, the Nespresso machine, the table and chairs and the large flat screen TV. The bathroom was OK however the shower had poor pressure and this didn’t match the high level of quality of the remainder of the facilities. All was clean throughout.

The biggest disappointment was breakfast. The black table linen seemed an odd choice of colour for that time of day. The buffet area was too compact and quickly became cramped with just a handful of guests. A personal favourite is Eggs Benedict and we were pleased to see it on the menu, but sadly it arrived at our table completely cold and inedible.

The pool area seemed very clean and the Jacuzzi was powerful. However, they were too restrictive on timings for children to use the pool.

We would stay here again if we could be certain of an improvement to the shower and the breakfast arrangements.

Having recently returned from the Quay Hotel for a family wedding, we were delighted with the service & facilities it had to offer. The "big" day itself was fantastic, everything ran smoothly, staff were helpful and more importantly they were "smiley" which makes a very pleasant change !
The bedroom was very comfortable and very well serviced.
All in all a very enjoyable stay !

Amazing, luxury hotel. Everyone worked seamlessly together to ensure our stay was superb. It was my fiancé's birthday and they had placed a card and cupcakes in his room- lovely personal touch. We stayed in an executive suite and it was simply 1st class- worth the extra pennies for a timeless, memorable stay.

We had treatments in the spa which were amazing, I loved enjoying tea in the chillout pod (area) post-treatment. We had a 3 course dinner in the restaurant was sensational again! The staff were friendly and attentive. We chose steaks for our mains- best steak I've ever tasted, the sauce was divine. The welsh breakfast was great too and there were lots of options.

The location was brilliant with lovely views over the bay. We went to Llandudno & Conway in the day time which were easy to find and close by. We felt so at peace, an amazing escape for our hectic lives. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay sensational, we look forward to our return & will probably be bringing some of our over-worked friends too :D

fabulous location, staff friendly food pricey and not high standard which you would expect at these prices. Only complaint is the restaurant food and prices, otherwise a good hotel..eat out nearby...only 200yd walk

Room Tip: watch your bill...things get added on...try the French restaurant in Deganwy..better food/prices!

We and some other members of our family stayed here for a 2 night stay. We had booked bed and breakfast for 2 nights and an evening meal for the first night.
The rooms are nice, we had a view over the zen gardens. My son and his family had a family room overlooking the estuary. The rooms are well equiped with tea/coffee tray,a small fridge, a safe at no extra charge & toiletries in the bathroom. There is a hairdryer which has a socket near to a mirror which isn't the case in a lot of hotels. My only complaint in the rooms is they were very hot at night, there isn't any air con. We could have opened the patio doors, there was a safety chain on it (not a very strong one) but as we were on the ground floor I didn't feel comfortable with that. On request they did give us a fan for the second night which did make the room a lot more comfortable.
We used the pool twice for which towels were provided. The pool temperature was warm and the is also a hydrotherapy pool, sauna & steam room as well.
We had the evening meal which we had pre booked as part of the package. The childrens meals were extra along with the drinks. At the end of the meal when we were given the bill, they had charged us for the 4 adult meals again. The bill was ammended as soon as we pointed it out.
I enjoyed my stay here and would go again
