We stayed here Sat 14th July as we were going to a wedding at Gisbrough Hall, but we didnt want to pay that amount of money to stay over. The pub was open till 2am. Our bedrooms were right over the bar and disco, but it didnt bother us as we were still up till after 2am! So if u want a late night this is the place to be! Room was nice, clean, comfortable, nice shower. Breakfast was nice, full english, but abit small! The staff were friendly. Cant fault the place for a cheap one night stopover. Just be aware that it is noisey

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room ask for room one which is not right over the bar area

Lovely room, shame about the noise. To quote the landlady this is a town centre pub with live music. Don't believe her if she says it is a quiet night and she will wind things up at midnight. The Friday night we stayed, we were kept up until past 2am playing trivial pursuit on the hallway landing because there was no way to sleep. Real shame as the staff in the morning were lovely and the rooms of a good basic standard. The problem is a b and b business is not compatible with karaoke and loud music when there is no soundproofing and the pictures are vibrating on the walls (no wonder they were screwed on)! The next night we stayed at Guisbrough Hall. Far nicer all around even if it was significantly more expensive!

Room Tip: Just make sure there is no music or any event on!

Can only review this on the basis of the food, as we didn't stay here. We were the only customers in when we arrived, which seems a shame in a really nice clean pub. We ordered a starter and a main course, which in retrospect we wouldn't do again as the portions were huge. The staff were really friendly and the food was really good and excellent value. Couldn't ask for more. If their accommodation is as good as their food, then they have nothing to worry about.

This is a pub in the centre of Guisborough. It sells tasty home cooked pub food (real chips!) and beer, including the excellent Black Sheep ale. Monday through Thursday, there's a special board with two meals for £7.95. There's a pool table, I think a darts board, and music till the early hours at the weekend. It's just been refurbished (spring 2012) so it's nice and plush inside.

There's a small car park, and on-street parking just around the corner. Or, if you happen to arrive on your horse, there's a grade II listed, 18th century mounting step right outside. (see http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-59914-mounting-block-at-south-east-corner-of-th)

Although it's a 3-star inn, we weren't staying, so I can't comment on the accommodation or breakfast.

We arrived midweek with no reservation and were instantly made to feel at home with all staff bending over backwards to accommodate us. I worked away quite a few times over the years and this hotel/pub is by far one of the best. The rooms were perfect, cosy, modern and well maintained. After a hard day at the office i was looking forward to heading back to this hotel. just what you need a nice cold pint served with a friendly welcome smile. The food was also superb, good size portions, plenty of choices and always served with a smile. we were also informed that there was live music and a disco at the weekend. again just what you need to put the previous week behind you. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling within the district. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I stayed here the night before my wedding at Gisborough Hall. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful but they're let down badly by the tired, grubby rooms and the woeful standard of the cooked breakfast. I would like to be more positive about the Fox Inn because of the excellent staff but I can't get passed the poor quality of the accomodation and the inedible breakfast.

It was our first stay here and we had heard it was under new management. Booking was very friendly and efficient and we were given a lovely room. It was a family room and more than adequate for my friend and myself.
The hotel and its staff were really friendly, we loved the bar and were aware of the disco which we missed unfortunately. All was quiet and peaceful on our arrival back to our room (though to be honest we wouldnt have minded a boogie if it was stil on lol)
The following day the staff were great with our breakfast having it all ready when we were, this is where they excelled and the food was gorgeous.
Our experience of this hotel was great and we will certainly be back, thankyou so much

Room Tip: We liked the familt room even though there was only two of us
