“Lovely quiet hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

Loved this place, it's an old building so they can't do much with it, but that just added to the loveliness of it. The man who greeted us couldn't have been nicer, and although there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room he also offered to make us one whenever we fancied. We stayed in one of the attic rooms which was really pretty with beams, and very pleasantly decorated, you could tell the carpet was expensive, and there was a tray for shoes so it felt as clean as being at home. The only draw back for me (and not sure if this is typical for all rooms) is that there was no shower; however we were in no rush and using just the bath actually turned out to be more of an experience than anything! Breakfast was also delicious with lots of choice.

We booked for a stopover on our way to Holyhead after our holiday as most of the other hotels in the area were booked out, apparently there were concerts on in Milton Keynes over the weekend
On arrival we were asked to wait twice while the gentleman on reception went off on an urgent errand. We had booked via booking.com and were asked to pay in full on arrival. Lovely hotel great rooms and we had adjoining rooms for ourselves and our two girls. Rooms must be cold in winter as there were a number of extra heaters in the room in addition to the central heating. We were given forms to fill in specifying what we wanted for breakfast and also to specify what time. We didn't eat in the restaurant for our evening meal choosing instead to eat in The White Hart pub up the road which was great and had a nice selection of beers. A request at reception for a hair dryer was attended to promptly. The hotel was very quite at night but we had to endure the noise of the extraction fan from the kitchen in our bedroom when that fired up after 7 am. We went down for breakfast at our chosen time. We were greeted by a pleasant young man at the door who made no effort to show us to a table. We had to ask for more cups and spoons as there were not enough on the table. The selection of cereals and juices was poor only two of each. Tea and coffee were self service from those vacuum flasks that you see at conferences and were lukewarm. Toast arrived after about 10 minutes and our cooked breakfast 20 minutes later so much for ordering in advance ! We had to ask for more butter and other items. The place needed someone to call the shots as the staff seemed to be wondering around aimlessly. Not sure if the hotel has a designated manager but could do with one if not. Despite all the above we enjoyed our stay.

We returned to the Partridge and stayed here for one night. We got the top en-suite which comprises of two bedrooms (one with a king size bed, the other with two single beds which can easily be used as a dressing / semi-living room). The en-suite bathroom had both shower and a sizeable bath. The vanity kit is great as well as little touches in both bedrooms e.g. Coffee and biscuits. The deco is stylish and overall the atmosphere is cosy and quiet. You can also use the spa by appointment.

Room Tip: Just ask, the hotel staff are great in assisting you.

Very easy to find, excellent parking, great out look and reception friendly. I wasn't keen about being asked what I wanted for breakfast on arrival, how does one know. The room was huge and full of character. Lovely on a warm summers evening, I think the bathroom might be somewhat cold in the winter. Would certainly stay again. Was also very quiet

Wonderful change of pace after chain hotels in London. Wonderful service (thank you Thomas) and charming rooms. Close by to Northampton but still in the country. Don't isle Google Maps to find it as you will end up in the middle of a cow pasture.

Stayed in a family suite for our visit to Silverstone, we did not eat in the hotel as we went to the pub up the road which was great, the staff at the French Partridge were very helpful and the room that we had was great, we will be staying again.

Room Tip: First floor suite is great.

Booked with Booking . com. Phoned on afternoon of arrival to advise I would be checking in late. On arrival at 23:00 I was told they did not have my booking and there was no room available. Hotel could see my reservation on the booking . com site but couldn't help. All they did to help was phone Booking . com. What more can I say. Not going back
