The cottage is so cute and cosy with a great sun room for relaxing as a family! We were so lucky with the weather (high 20s) so the garden was perfect for eating out and generally lazing around. We had a 17month old with us who loved the outdoor space for running around!
We got to meet some gorgeous pine martins who live in the loft (mum and baby) which was exciting to see up close!
The location is literally a 2 minute walk onto the loch and lovely walks in the forests out the back of the house!
Dawn and Hans are amazing hosts - always on hand when there are any issues (we had some problems with trip advisor before our trip) - I can’t rate them enough!!!
This was literally a little piece of heaven - our only regret was that we weren’t there longer!!
The cottage is very comfortable, the garden is amazing, lots of birds and even a pine marten come to visit. If you like hill walking this is the place to be.
This was a family holiday including 6 adults, 1 toddler and two dogs. Weather could have been kinder. Midgies and tics everywhere BUT a great holiday in a lovely location in a super cottage. Enjoyed by all.
We keep finding new walks and activities in this beautiful weather at different times of year. No matter the weather West Carie cottage provides top quality comfortable accommodation with great heating andcooking facilities and wi-fi worth a special commendation.
The whole family adored the location particularly our 2 dogs, although our chocolate lab was definitely less keen on our hike up Schiehallion. The cottage is really well equipped and we were delighted to find ample pizza trays so that our regular Friday night home-made pizzas turned out perfectly! Another major plus was the provision of 4 excellent mountain bikes which we used on a daily basis as well as the almost deserted road which was perfect for boarding. There are also many diverse water activities nearby including white water rafting and paddle boarding. Our kids definitely approved and we will be back another year.
