Picked the hotel because of inclusion in "Scotland the Best" book - usually a reliable guide. On the positives the staff and the food were very good. On the negatives - the bathroom had black mould along the side of the bath, one of the taps was wonky and had to be twisted to work, there was a crack in the sink - the curtains had broken hooks, the tv could not be watched from the bed since it was too small and had to be raised onto a table, the carpet (ancient) looked like it needed a clean, the rug was horrible, some pieces of furniture were nice but the chairs for example really needed re-upholstered, i could go on but finally if you book a four poster it should have drapes around it. All in all the room felt like that of an old aunt that had fallen on hard times. We won't be back. PS, £260 for one night DBB

We stayed at Dulmunzie in for our 30th Wedding Anniversay just a quick stop over on our driving tour of Scotland. It was recommended by a friend here in Australia and we did not know what to expect. From the time we drove through the front gate OMG what a surprise a Castle set in the beautiful Scottish highlands just wonderful peaceful spot. The Rooms are charming, comfortable , very clean and with Great. Views. It was raining gently but that did not stop us from venturing out for a walk around the picturesque grounds and the golf course, a great way to work up an appetite ready for afternoon tea with a lovely cup of tea in front of the many firesplaces alight in the house.
The management and staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble, we even had a pre dinner drink in the bar with Scott the owner. We did a package stay with a 5 course dinner that was superb as we sat and ate looking out over the grounds and bunnies hopping around the gardens on sunset was a great treat. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful.

Fully recommend a stay at Dulmunzie a memory that will stay with us for life would love to go back next time in Scotland. RIP Scott Poole

Me and my wife stayed there on June 2011, and had a wonderful stay.
the staff was responsive when we booked our stay both on phone and emails. My wife is a vegetarian and the kitchen staff prepared a vegetarian meal just for her.
the hotel is extremely clean, and everyone were friendly and helpful.

the only thing that i'd improve is the bathroom. the plumbing seems to be dated to the 19th century :)

My partner treated me to a two night stay at this hotel for my 40th birthday. I had no idea where we were going. On arriving I was speechless. It's located amongst mountains and its tranquility and peace personified!! The staff were helpful, friendly and always around if you needed them. Our room was beautiful. Clean and comfy. The building oozes history and character and you can't help yourself from exploring! The food is out of this world. Cooked beautifully and presented in a way you would expect from such a classy place. On a night time we relaxed with a G&T in front of the roaring log fire on a comfy sofa. I highly recommend this hotel and will hopefully be going back one day.

Dalmunzie is stunningly beautiful, you will be in awe driving up to the manor house. It feels private and friendly and very Scottish.
Take a walk around the grounds, soak up the oh so fresh air see how the sun shadows dance across the glen and see how the stream trickles along the mountain side. The staff are outstanding, I have never come accross such attentive, friendly forthcoming people. They without intrusion were there at your beck and call. The food was absolutely delicious, the ambience splendid. The rooms were oldy worldly quirky and the hinges on the wardrobe creaked but this just gave the place more character. The views out your windows was pleasing to the eye and how often do you get to sleep in a four poster bed.
We attended my sisters wedding in Dalmunzie an all kilt affair and there isn't a better venue I could recommend for a small party wedding. We had the whole place to ourselves which was exclusive. The staff knew us all my first name almost, they just made the day, catered to all needs at all times. An Irish /Scottish Wedding. We sang and the Scots showed us how to dance :-) The photographer couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop. We had beautiful weather and everyone in the party , everyone were singing the praises of staff at Dalmunzie.
Superb place with such a good feeling atmosphere about the place. Definitely a must see place in Scotland.
Liz
