Dalmunzie Castle

I stayed in this hotel for the weekend, and also tried the food, the bar and the breakfast.
The staff was great since the moment we arrived; the dinner in the hotel restaurant was simply amazing. We stayed in the tower room, which is more conformable and bigger than the normal ones. Our room was huge and comfy. I highly recommend this hotel. PS: the breakfast is awesome too.

Room Tip: Go for one of the tower's rooms.

Myself, partner and our dog stayed at Dalmunzie for 3 nights as part of a wedding party who booked the hotel exclusively. Firstly, we were delighted that the hotel is dog friendly (for a very small charge) and he was free to enjoy most areas of the hotel along with us.
We were warmly greeted by the staff and this warmth and hospitatlity remianed for the duration of our stay. Staff were very obliging and accomodating of any requests and they are all an asset to this hotel. Our room was lovely, spacious with a very good sized bathroom although perhaps the bathroom is needing a little moderinsation in there, however perfectly adequate and very clean. Bathroom shampoo etc was Arran Aromatics and this is a lovely brand. Our bed was extremely comfortable and I slept very well (I am not a good sleeper so I judge hotels on how well I manage to sleep!). Breakfasts were a mix of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries etc and then a hearty selection of hot, this is buffet style. A good selection of fresh juices and the orange juice was freshly squeezed. The evening meals we had were wonderful, the wedding dinner was fantastic and served in a beautiful room. The room was set up so well for a wedding. On the last night, the hotel had accomodated the bride's requuest for a hog roast and a selection of hot and cold buffet food and again we can't praise highly enough. In the evenings we enjoyed drinks in the bar and also sitting in front of the log fire.
We really enjoyed this stay and we will return soonish. Many thanks to all staff members for their hospitality.

My husband and I, along with 30 or so family members and friends, have just spent the last 3 days at Dalmunzie Castle. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely magical and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants a truly bespoke country getaway. We chose Dalmunzie because of its location, along with the nearby Parish of Glenshee at the bottom of the driveway, and Jen and Nick ensured that both our wedding day and Hogmanay celebrations went off without the slightest of hitches. If I had to pick a highlight it would be hard to choose between the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the outstanding quality of the food. We will definitely be back to celebrate our anniversary!

Myself and my wife got given a voucher from itison for our anniversary. We were excited yet dubious as we have been let down from other rural hotels whom advertise on discount websites, but our expectations were surpassed on every level. On arrival we offered a complimentary tea and coffee with shortbread as our room we originally were getting wasn't ready, no issue as we were freezing and coffee by the roaring fire was a very nice touch. As we vacated to our room the hallways and other rooms which we glanced into on way all had a very homey feel which is delightful as we cannot stand the cold and cooperate feel to many branded hotels. Supper was one of the best meals (if not the best) myself and wife have ever tasted. We upgraded to the al a carte menu for a cheap cost as the itison menu was not to our tastes. All six courses were mind blowing from the warm crusty bread to the mouth watering after dinner sweets. Service was exceptional too, we were greeted by a professional and charming young lady who catered to our every needs. We did feel the restaurant was a bit dark but not an issue as it was quite romantic. Breakfast was sublime too, a continental breakfast buffet which was the size of a continent itself was a real nice touch as was the eggs benedict and the worlds best scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. On a whole it was a truly warming experience and we will definitely will return in the new year. Thanks to all the staff which made our experience a one to remember for all the right reasons.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dalmunzie castle. As other reviewers have mentioned it is indeed the staff that made our stay so special. In particular a young Irish lady (i hope I have remembered her name correctly) Mary. She was so attentive and nothing seemed like too much trouble. She truly made us feel pampered. We just didn't want to leave the table as the food was amazing and we wanted to sample everything.
We would highly recommend this hotel to all of our friends and we look forward to returning.

On Arrival at this beautiful hideaway hotel, the weather was grim & cold but the warm welcome from the friendly staff made us feel comfortable & relaxed. The whole ambience of the Castle was of old, quality comfort which suited the beautiful surroundings. From the moment we arrived the staff were most attentive, special thanks must go to Chris who could not have been more obliging introducing us to the rest of the team & ensuring everything was perfect. The evening meal was amazing, Each of the 6 courses were a taste sensation, the chef should be proud. After a hearty breakfast the following morning the weather hadn't improved but our spirits had. We left with a feel good factor & will certainly return. There is no doubt that the excellent staff made an impression.

I would like to thank ALL the staff at Dalmunzie Castle for their devoted and individual attention and for making it feel a very personal experience. My stay was extremely comfortable and clean. The hotel is situated in a very picturesque area. It's so nice to stay at a hotel that has such quality and that is pet friendly........a rare bonus these days.
My dinner was the best I've ever eaten. The flavours on every plate were just perfect. (It's making my taste buds tingle just thinking about it) your Chef is a pure genius. A huge thank you to Sam the beautiful waitress and also to Jamie for being so gracious.
It shows what a fabulous team the staff at Dalmunzie are. Thank you all. I hope to see you again soon.

Room Tip: A fabulous gem tucked away in stunning scenery, with peace and quiet. Well worth going for a break...
