This place was a gold mine find. Hospitality was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The location is in beautiful surroundings and not far from the M5. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Breakfast was excellent not continental or full English you got both! I woud highly recommend, there is nothing I could say that was anyway negative about this, so glad I found it!!!!

Room Tip: We had the twin room and it was small but totally cosy. Bathroom was excellent as well

If you had to design a chocolate box and you were looking for a typical chocolate box cottage, well Farndon Thatch fits the bill. In the heart of the Sommerset countryside it really is a beautiful property. The gardens are quite stunning and a credit to Jane and Bob the very welcoming owners. We had a lovely night's sleep in the mediaeval room and our first rate breakfast was cooked to order, delicious. We even had the pleasure of some feline company,Peanut the beautiful Burmese came a knocking on our door for a pre breakfast cuddle. If you don't like cats, firstly what's to do with you? Secondly you might want to give the cat friendly vibe some consideration. We had a lovely time here,it's a great place to stop off on your way to the South West as we did and was worth the £90 tariff.

This is a really lovely B & B .A pretty cottage, beautifully combining old and new, with a glorious garden. The owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming- they seemed to really enjoy sharing their home with the guests. Everything was very high quality especially the delicious breakfast ( what an amazing array of jams etc!)

Our second visit to Jane and Bob's did not disappoint - and the garden was even more spectacular than when we were there in April 12! It simply confirmed that this is possibly the best B&B we have ever stayed at in the UK (as described in all the other reviews), and hope we can revisit again soon! thank you for such a wonderfully relaxing and welcoming stay at your home.

What a fantastic garden and an astonishing view, found the house and was very impressed. Was met by Jane and offered tea and cake, home made cake:) Jane is very nice and we soon met hubby, Bob, really nice couple, both have been part of the classical music scene in the past and are very welcoming. The house itself is lovely but seems a bit of a mish-mash in decoration and double glassing. The room we had was lovely with sloped ceilings and had everything we needed. We were given good info on local eateries and places to visit, we were staying four nights so managed to visit quite a few. the local pub (Barrington Boar) has recently reopened and is well worth a visit. Very nice place and a lovely couple and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

As Aussie travellers spening over 60 days in the UK, this was simply the best B&B we found and we could not recommend it too highly. The premises and gardens are breathtakingly beautiful and the Medieval room that we asked for was comfortable with amenities that showed absolute attention to detail. Possibly the most comfortable bed we slept in during our 2+ months abroad with the thoughtfulness of not only providing alternative pillows but also lighter or heavier bed coverings depending on preference. We used the lighter duvet which was just right for our needs. Our hosts Jane & Bob as well as fellow guests were interesting and caring with Jane's breakfast cooked right in front of us and including homemade jams, fresh fruit, etc was simply superb. Bob offerred us a lovely glass of wine on arrival and some insightful dining suggestions as well as a host of helpful literature in our room on local establishments and attractions. Going the extra yard and at some peril to his personal car he also insisted on showing us the way to a local and very much off the beaten track bluebell wood to see the spring bluebells that we do not see in Australia. This is a B&B with hosts who are intuitive to guests needs and treat you as part of the family to enhance a holiday experience from simply staying somewhere to learning, evolving, and truly appreciating life. Thanks Bob and Jane. Very highly recommended.
