We arrived for my brothers 35th birthday lunch today where we were greeted by excellent, warm and very friendly members of staff. My daughter is 1,as a loving parent I only want the best food for her, her children's meal was massive and so freshly cooked it was outstanding to see, so many times have I seen children's meals come out of the kitchen from a microwave, this clearly was not the case. To top it all off, when my dinner was ready my daughter wanted to sleep in her pram, so whilst I ate my food the landlord pushed her around until she went to sleep. Never have I ever experienced such a kind act by a stranger, thank you so so much The Bell Inn, I will defiantly be back for more outstanding, tasty and fresh food as well as brilliant service.

We stayed here on a stop-over on way to Cornwall. We didn't eat having arrived after 9pm, but the restaurant was busy and the food looked good. We contented ourselves with a couple of glasses of wine on the sofa by the log fire, and enjoyed the ambience of this lovely pub. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was absolutely fine for our purposes, and very good value at £45. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Stayed overnight at this lovely pub whilst visiting our old nan who was in a home just down the road - as soon as we stepped through the door to this great pub we had such a Lovely welcome, Darren and Vicky, the owners, made us so welcome. Two bars either side, both with open log fires, so cosy. The dining area was quaint and lovely and surprisingly lead onto a larger dining area - a wedding was booked there Saturday night so we met the friendly locals in the other bar and the local dog 'Millie' who was gorgeous. The room was separate from the pub and was small but nicely decorated and so clean - the only negative was that the shower wasn't that private and lead straight out into the room and there were also no wardrobes, just hooks, but it did not change our mind to the fact that this place was very comfy, cosy, clean and so friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Thanks to Darren and Vicky for making us comfy - will definitely return again :)

Had an evening meal with friends, the staff are very welcoming and efficient, the food was excellent and the mixed grill was lush with quality cuts of meat, really nice decor and you can't beat a log fire and comfy chairs, all adds up to a great relaxing night out. We will be back.

We visited The Bell having heard good things from locals (always a good sign) and we weren't disappointed. The refurb is very tasteful with an open fire and a mish-mash of old furniture, interesting rugs and a lovely sofa, and the vibe is very 'buzz-y'. The specials menu looked interesting and seasonal, but staff were happy to pander to my latest diet fad as I went off-road with their main menu. Others in our party were simpler to cater for, and all agreed that the food was 'good pub food'. Staff casually friendly, but very attentive and our food arrived quickly. As a rough guide to the price, about £8 or £9 for a main (steak £12.99) - so good value. And lastly; the toilets are spotless and nicely decorated with fine fittings, or 'posh' as the little girl in our party described them!

Good old fashioned pup, even down to the local tradesmen popping in on Friday after work for a pint and a natter before going home for tea. Excellent feel to the place and very friendly. The accommodation was basic but spotlessly clean and a really good shower. Downside was the lack of soundproofing/thickness of walls which meant you could almost hear conversations of upstairs guests. The kitchen of the Bell is the star of the show. The menu was quite short but the choice had enough variety to it and all the food was very well cooked and presented. Not a gastro pub but all the better for it with good portions and a menu that you completely understand.
