Stayed at other De Veres but first time at a village brand. The hotel was Neat & Clean. Good facilities as listed.. Rooms as expected - windows can be fully opened if requested otherwise the are set to a maximum opening for Health & Safety reasons. Reasonable prices at the bar. We were going to eat at Salvos but the weather put us off so we opted for 2 for £29 meal at the Grill which was surprisingly good. Breakfast also good. Friendly and we would go back as we booked direct and snatched B&B @ £49.00 plus £29 for even meal absolute value! Suitable for for everyone.

Room Tip: Bus stop immediate outside hotel grounds for either bars in town or Leeds City Centre so cheap for couples otherwise taxis just as cheap for groups of 4

Stayed here over Easter - hotel was full. Check in was fine, although they did not have a note of my 2 year old being in the room with us and had not made up the sofa bed. That was no problem - they asked when would be convenient to come up and do it and it was done. Loved the swimming pool area - used it three times in three days! Breakfasts were fantastic - nothing ran out and there were queues one morning! Room was clean and spacious. It was great to have a bath and shower in the bathroom as so often you only get a shower. We regularly come up to Leeds to visit family and this was the first time we stayed here - we would definitely stay here again. We were in a room on the first floor - there was a bit of noise from the bar area, but on the Saturday night I think the curfew was 11:30 pm as it suddenly went quiet then.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back probably don't get noise from the bar - see comment above.

The hotel. A little rough looking with tapes off area out the front, dirty steps etc. reception area is a little worn.

Restaurant is really bad. Canteen type tables, small with staff not that interested in serving you. Breakfast as the weekend is only served at 8am meaning no good if you want an early start. Also if you fancy a swim your stuffed. Again opens at 8am. So if you breakfast then swim you'll have no chance as you'll need to check out before you can.

The restaurant is also grubby, stains on the seats, food on the wall, VERY limited breakfast selection. For a de vere hotel is really sucks.

Rooms are cold, basic in furnishing with soap and shower gel mounted on the wall, come on for a 4* hotel is the really bad.

If the breakfast was served from 7 and the pool open at the same time it would be better.

I would not stay here again however, it's not worth the money

I organised a weekend here in March 2012 for a uni girls reunion. 4 of us stayed two nights and a further 4 stayed one night. Before we arrived we were all a little dubious as the spa break package was so cheap that we half expected not to actually use the treatments. However we were all pleasantly surprised at how lovely the spa treatments were. We then had a few hours lounging by the pool and catching up. The evening meal was nice and it was great to have a separate pub for after our meal. The service in the restaurant was a bit poor and would probably annoy a smaller group. Breakfast was eaten at the same location and was average but did the job.

For our purposes the weekend was excellent value and a perfect place to catch up. The hotel was very busy and it was interetsing sitting in the lobby watching everyone coming and going.

For all of these reasons why the weekend was good for a group I would probably not go there for a romantic break for two!

Room Tip: A long walk to our room but it was quiet. Think it was 278.

Clean and comfortable. Decent facilities. Good location and free parking though it does get very busy.

Staff are very nice and helpful.

Nice to have a Starbucks so close!

Dinner was very good. Breakfast okay.
