If you need to be in north Leeds you could do a lot worse (and pay a lot more) than visit this lovely little hotel. I've stayed here numerous times over the years as they offer a friendly, family style service, have nice rooms that all have their individual character, and are conveniently located.

Food is of a good standard, wi-fi however could definitely be better. Other than that nothing much to add. In an area of Leeds where your options are overpriced or grubby, Hayley's is a great place to stay.

I read reviews about Haley's, starting from terrible and working up till l got bored. The owner, hands on grafter, couldn't have been more obliging. Lady on the bar most helpful and the chef carved all the tender meat, gave good portions all with a good, pleasant attitude.
The establishment itself is old and full of character. We, a party of 11 dined in the library. We all had a good time and were well taken care of. I can see us returning for family celebrations.
Thank you.

Room Tip: Just used the restaurant

Nice to hear you enjoyed your visit to Haley's. The building does give you that town house feeling and works well on this type of dinner party celebrations.

Thank you.

On Wednesday the 6th of August my husband and I decided to book some accommodation in Headingley for a nights stay the following day and chose Haley's. What a great choice we made!

We arrived at Haley's at approximately 10.15am on the Thursday morning and parked our car in the very spacious and clean car park. As we were spending the day at the cricket watching Yorkshire v Worcestershire I went to reception to inform them that we were leaving our car in the car park and returning in the evening to check in. The lady on reception was very pleasant and courteous and told us that if we wanted we could check into our room then. This would have been lovely to do but we were racing off for the start of the cricket.

We returned early evening and checked in, reception staff again very pleasant and helpful. Our room was room number 27, at the front of the hotel. We could not fault the room at all. It was clean, spacious enough for our needs, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfy and we had a wonderful nights sleep. The bathroom was also spacious with good lighting in. A lovely variety of toiletries provided and the towels were thick and fluffy and a good size. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water.

Breakfast was a help yourself style, but there was everything supplied that you could have wished for. A great variety of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, croissants, cheeses. The cooked breakfast was a serve yourself also with everything there, the food was hot and the trays replenished every so often. The gentleman called Nigel who was clearing the tables and also apparently doing the cooking was very courteous and helpful. He said if there was anything else we should wish to eat that wasn't in the cooked breakfast stand we only had to ask ie if we wanted a fried egg as only scrambled was out. The breakfast was superb, well cooked and everything in the restaurant well presented and clean, it was well worth the £8 we paid for it.

Haley's Hotel is a wonderful place, it has beautiful gardens and is in a quiet location in Headingley. It was only a 15 minute walk to the cricket ground and is also a short walking distance from the other restaurants and bars in Headingley. We would highly recommend staying at Haley's and we look forward to staying here again several times next year when we get the cricket fixtures list.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 27 at front of the hotel. Could not fault the room or anything in the hotel, we would...

We have stayed in this hotel 7 times since our daughter has been a student at Leeds University. It is a comfortable, homely hotel and the extra large double rooms worth the extra fee. There is parking and the hotel very conveniently situated near to Headingley High Street, Our daughter has always been living within walking distance of the hotel which has also been very useful.

The reason for not giving 5 stars is mainly the food. The breakfast is limited and not as good as most hotels of this star rating. Furthermore although the evening meals are generous portions and well priced I had serious food poisoning the last time I had an evening meal here. In addition on another evening another parent completely separately also had the same problem. So watch out for the food.

The showers over the bath also seem to always be rather pathetic and soem power showers would be good.

Thank you for your review, we do take complaints about our food very seriously.

I am sure that nothing was mentioned at the time as I would have had a word with you to gain further details. I would just like to mention that our yearly kitchen inspection by Leeds City healthy & safety was positive and we were upgraded.

Many thanks to Rachel for being really polite, helpful and efficient throughout our stay. We were allocated a lovely high ceilinged room with four posted bed too - very fair value for such a lovely room.
