Just stayed at the Hedingley Lodge after visitng Leeds for one night. Free onsite parking and a very welcoming receptionist started our stay well. I had a double room which was HUGE! As was the bed which I have to say was also HUGE! The views across the cricket ground are amazing and we even watched the Yorkshire cricket team training the next morning from our window. We had the continental breakfast (cereal, juice, croissant with butter and jam, danish pastry and yoghurt) delivered for just £6, well worth it I thought. The room itself was immaculate and so spacious. Totally loved the location too, very near bars, restaurants etc. Would recommend the Olive Tree greek restaurant on the Otley road. Excellent value for money, this hotel would be my 1st choice when coming back to Leeds

My partner and I stayed here on a short visit to Leeds, we were really impressed, very friendly staff especially reception, rooms large and very clean, comfy beds and functional bathroom with nice shower gels and fluffy white towels etc the facilities in the room, hairdryer, tea coffee etc are all very good and the continental breakfast brought to the room was just great. The rooms are very light and bright with the most amazing view of the cricket pitch. We were in the Geoffrey Boycott room, all rooms were named after famous cricketers nice touch. The location is great for restaurants and bars and easy access to central Leeds. Would we stay here again - you bet. My partner loves cricket so he loved it all anyway but I think I am now converted to cricket !!!!!

My wife and I have stayed at the Headingley Lodge several times before and were there again last week with the usual friendly service at check in and a great room overlooking the cricket square. Lovely comfy (and big) bed, the usual facilities for tea and coffee making and plenty of space. Easy walking distance to the restaurants and bars in Headingly. The only drawback to the room was the shower-only washing facilities but that's not a real problem for a single night stay. We'll be back.

Stayed her one Saturday night whilst visiting our daughter in Leeds. We stayed in a "superior" room which was very bright and spacious with an enormous bed, and proved to be good value for the money that we paid for it. Very clean and comfortable with great view of the cricket ground. As we stayed at the weekend only continental breakfast was available, but a short walk to Headingley itself soon produced the cooked breakfast we were looking for - such a pity that this isn't available at the Lodge @ weekends. Staff friendly and helpful. Very handy for student land and taxi to Leeds city centre about £7.

We stayed at headingley lodge so we could enjoy a 20:20 game and the views over the ground.

The rooms are basic but clean and the service at reception was very friendly and helpful.

The views over the ground were amazing and this is a great location for wandering outside of the ground too.

The stay was marred by how ridiculously hot the rooms were, no fans or air conditioning. It was like being in a greenhouse. We asked at reception for our balcony door to be unlocked. Apparently the cricket ground won't allow this in case we watched the match without a ticket!! It seems irrelevant since you can watch it from your window anyway and we already had tickets. The doors are bolted shut so even when the poor girl on reception had finally negotiated us some fresh air, the door couldn't be opened more than a couple of inches.

Such a shame that they haven't got this right because the lodge is a great idea and the staff are lovely.

OK, so it's not 5* but it is terrific value, hence the rating. The rooms are very big, very clean and, thanks to the large picture windows, very bright and airy. It's an enormous shame that the balconies cannot be used. I used the room to visit my daughter moving in to a new shared flat ( gruesome, but that's another story!). The hotel is extremely convenient for student land with most student accommodation in Hyde Park within walking distance. Also, the restaurants in Headingley are also convenient, so one can enjoy a glass of reviving Sauvignon Blanc (necessary after five hours detoxing a grubby student kitchen before a new let is habitable) and still walk home. Breakfast can be ordered to the room - it is continental and nothing to write home about, but satisfactory nonetheless. The reception staff are a mixed bunch - some very good with excellent customer service skills and others more interested in chatting to each other than the customer. If you get a noisy neighbour, as I did one night, then you find the walks are very thin. The room and bathroom are very clean, although more staff are needed for cleaning, as our room was still being cleaned as we arrived....and 30 minutes later. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here - the hotel is fine, if not spectacular, excellent value compared to city centre hotels and local B&Bs, and convenient for student sons and daughters. I'm sure it's also fantastic for match days, but check you have access to the balcony, or you may be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have good views and to be very similar.

We recently stayed here in a triple room when Lancashire played a T20 game against Yorkshire at Headingley. All the rooms we saw had a nameplate outside the room of former famous Yorkshire cricketers and was a nice touch.
The room itself was excellant having the usual large TV,fridge, tea making facilities and large shower/bathroom. What made the experience exceptional was the view which overlooks the ground. It was quite simply superb. The Lodge is within the grounds of the cricket club itself and has the East Stand directly beneath its balcony.Unfortunately for us on the day whilst we had a shared balcony it was made clear to us before our arrival that the balcony would not be open. If we wanted to watch the game we would have to look out through a large closed window or buy tickets seperately for the game.
Free parking and a room with lots of room. around there are lots of places tboth eat and drink within a short walk.
