Parklands Hotel
Reviewed 28 May 2013

Stayed at Parklands on a last minute stop over. Arrived to wait a long time to check in. Only one girl on duty who seemed to be doing the job of 3, serving drinks, dealing with customers and also checking guests in. She was a little hararssed but understandly so. Hotel very neat and tidy but room very small and I wouldn't want to spend more than one night in it ideally. Sound proofing not great, slamming doors etc... Breakfast was very good but again a little unorganised and slow as same girl on duty multi tasking. Tables not cleared so was a little chaotic on arrival to breakfast with couples trying to find where to sit. We had to find our own breakfast bowls and glasses. Would have been muich better to just have an extra paid of hands around the place I think to offer a efficient check in, welcome and service.

I stayed at this hotel whilst on a week walking. I think I had what can only be described as the smallest room going. My friend who also stayed had a room more than twice the size as mine but paid the same. Saying that, it was clean and the food, service was great. The owner moaned a bit but what I think was his wife was lovely.

A lovely little place. Great location and easy to find. Nice comfy room. It was a quiet time when we stayed, so we eat out, also the menu is a little limited. We did have a few drinks later though, but the staff seemed unsure of the prices. Excellent quality cooked breakfast, but a bit on the small side, also no breads or croissants available.

Nice, clean hotel with very nice lady (assume owner) and young lady that served us at dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was excellent. Paid for a superior room but felt that some little touches were missing i.e. no shower gel and just a shampoo in the shower, towels weren't fluffy in the slightest. Other than those couple of niggles a good stay

Had to wait ten minuites for receptionist before anyone welcomed us.
Room not pre-heated.Restaurant cold,food very mediocre,breakfast dreadful.
Left early,never will return EVER
Mushrooms massacred at breakfast, atmosphere of indifference to customers, when we left early having paid on arrival for both nights, was charged for one orange juice, no desire to go out of their way or show good will.

We stayed at the Parklands Hotel on a cold March night. The room was small but very nice and quiet with a lovely comfy bed. Beautifully warm and clean. We had a very warm and friendly welcome. The breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked to order. We would recommend the Parklands to friends and family who wish to stay in the area
