A Bank Holiday weekend: an exhausted couple having a long-awaited break collapse onto the bed after a long drive hoping to endulge in some serious film catching up. The CD Player was broken, but within minutes of asking at reception, a new TV/CD player arrived and we were happy!

Wonderful service all the stay - we did two epic walks across the Malverns from the hotel (the back gate leads directly onto the hills) and drank copiously from the very extensive, and very reasonable, wine list every night. Food - delicious!

Room Tip: Our room was small (we had been told when we booked it) but worth it because the view was amazing...

It was good to hear that our service was up to the mark. I have shown your comments to the team, so they get thanked too. Delighted you enjoyed the food and wine and the walks that come free! Many thanks for your review. Hope to see you return.

We had a lovely weekend break at the Cottage in the Wood which was great value. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we loved the fact that you could walk straight from the hotel to the top of the Malverns in about half an hour. The views are fantastic from the hotel and the restaurant. Room was small but comfortable but the shower had very little water pressure.

I'm delighted to read that you felt the stay was good value with our team doing what comes easily to them - looking after people. Having arrived exhausted I am impressed you set off on marathon walks each day. The shower pressure in the two upstairs rooms in Beech Cottage is a problem I have failed to solve. In Pinnacles I put in a pressurised system and you get pummeled to near death! Thank you for the review.

Stayed here recently for three nights as a little break for my wifes significant birthday.
We fell in love with the place. We were based in the main 'old house' which is quite higgledy piggledy in a nice way and all the rooms are very individual.
Owners and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
The Outlook restaurant is excellent and for the standard of food, I think, not overpriced. Breakfast was evreything you could want. It is very easy to over eat whilst staying here.
If you like walking then there is superb access to the hills behind for gentle strolls or full on walks if you are feeling energetic. We were there when the Blue bells were in full bloom and they were stupendous.
We'll be going back to the Cottage as soon as we are able.

We too fell in love with the place 26 years ago and are still here! We are very pleased we lived up to expectation for the special birthday. Glad too to read you enjoyed the food, walks and this years bluebells which were specially spectacular. Thank you for posting a review.

The Cottage in the wood has an excellent location with stunning views. The food was very good and the service from this family run hotel faultless. We had a small double room which was quite adequate although the bathroom had a bath with hand held shower only. Really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: The hotel offers several types of rooms including some in the main building and some in a separate b...

Staff were very friendly and helpfull but bedroom was not good. Needed cleaning, curtains falling apart and stained, canopy and bed covers needed cleaning old fashioned and dreary. Bathroom really bad, bath overflow plug filthy window frames encrusted with grime . and oh dear curtains and NET curtain at window that couldnt be closed. The only nice room was the restaurant which was bright and clean, food not brilliant not much choice for vegetarians.Would not recomend., but well done for service.Views were lovely .We stayed in room 5 perhaps other rooms were better.

We appreciate your honest feedback and apologise for the disappointment with your room. This room is planned for refurbishment on our summer maintenance schedule. The canopy and drapes were removed and cleaned only a month ago so we can assure you they were clean. They do need to be altered to enhance the spacious room though. We were glad to read that you enjoyed our hospitality and service though. Many thanks.

Lovely room 7 with beautiful views across the valley. Staff very welcoming and enthusiastic. Walk around the grounds showed 2 ways up to the hills. Did the circular walk up to the tops.. Even better views! Def return and do a longer walk along the Malvern ridge.. Up and down took us 50 mins .
Evening meal menu was limited with some choices that were not for me.. Ox cheek and duck. Choose the local sausage and mash.. Huge portions which worked well as veggie husband ate
most of the mustard mash! Desert was good as was breakfast. Our package included 3 courses but husband choose not to have desert but coffee instead as an alternative. This was an additional charge.
Def stay here again as the location and ambience was good.

Nice comfortable hotel with fabulous views. Rather old fashioned hotel but absolutely charming.
Our room was very cosy and comfortable and had one of the best views you could ask for.
Delicious breakfast, nicely served.

Room Tip: In the main building
