“King me!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

Went and visited Leap Castle and Sean Ryan...second time we have been there with different family members....first time was in 2007. Sean was outstanding, listening to the stories, his playing a few songs for us and sitting in front of the huge fireplace. This is a no frills place...you kind of self tour the upper floors. Ean entertains you on the main floor. If you like listening to a Story teller, enjoy some music, like history, and yes even a ghostly discussion if you ask, this place is great.

“Awesome experience”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

You will not find this castle in any visitors guide book (or at least I have not) and there are not any "brown signs" pointing you to it. We hoped to see the outside on this trip and were amazed that Sean Ryan invited us right in to sit by the fire, and commenced to "story telling". Our experience there made the trip. He interacted with our entire family, questioning my boys about their goals in life and career choices after high school. He is a rare find...a true gem.

“Still can't believe we saw Leap Castle”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

We put Leap Castle on our itinerary with the hopes of just seeing the outside. We were pleasantly surprised when, after finally finding it, we drive up and Mr. Sean Ryan opens the door and invites us in! Our own Sean and Tim are still talking about how we were invited in, Mr. Ryan taking the time to tell us stories and let us explore his home, even climb up to the Bloody Tower. I only went as far as the second floor, but still got the castle feel and experience. Tim, our family geneologist, found a distant relative that was born at Leap Castle, and we think Mr. Ryan was pleased to talk about that instead of the constant barrage of ghost hunters seeking stories. We were also treated to his lovely flute music and of course his gracious hospitality. Please pay him the meager 6 Euro he askes, it goes to restoration work. There is still alot of work to be done to bring the castle fully back to it's glory, but I rather like the side that is still in ruin, it lets visitors see how much work has been done so far. This was certainly the highlight of our Ireland Adventure for Sean and Tim, and we thank Mr. Ryan again for opening his home to us.

“So glad we went!”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 via mobile

This was the best idea we had. We contacted Mr. Ryan and he graciously arranged a tour for us. We intended to interrupt his day for only a short time, but we ended up staying several hours. He is a fact aging man with many stories, both about the Leap Castle spirits and his own amazing life. He played the Irish whistle for us...amazing! Then, there is the castle itself. For those interested in the haunted, Leap Castle should be your ultimate destination. The Bloody Chapel, the oubliette, the history, the elemental...it had it all. And it did not disappoint us. Shadows moved where there was no one. We heard whispers. My camera would not take a picture in the oubliette, though I had no issues with it anywhere else. This was, without a doubt, our favorite of the trip!
