“GREAT UNPRETENTIOUS FOOD”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2013

This restaurant is well hidden in the midst of the Malvasia vineyards in the valley of Val di Chiesa, not far from the Sanctuary, between Leni and Malfa, but much closer to Leni. We went there three times. I recommend the house antipasti, featuring classics such as the Caponata di Melanzane, zucchini flower fritters and Aeolian specialities featuring the famous Salina capers. Try the stuffed squid in Malvasia wine or the Aeolian style linguine, with capers (of course), swordfish, tomatoes, pine nuts... Great unpretentious food using great ingredients - that is what Italian cuisine is all about.

“Traditionnal eaolian family food at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2012

We ate there three times, one lunch and two dinners. The restaurant is offering a beautiful view over the sea and the two volcanoes of Salina. The food is definitely traditionnal and very well made. Do not expect great cuisine but really true food with local products: some vegetables and capers they grow on the farm as well as their own wine (a white and a Mavasia). The wine list is only based on Salina wines but it is a nice occasion to taste them and many are beautiful wines.
The owner is a really nice guy !

“I was not delighted”

The food was not really amazing let's say in the average, the environment was a little cold... The wine list is based only on island production.

“The most authentic place to eat in Salina”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2012

Surrounded by a wonderful view of the sea, mountains and Valdichiesa small church and village, this is by far the most authentic place to eat typical Aeolian food prepared by Massimo Galletta's wife with care. Excellent price-quality.

It is important to follow all the indications as it is a hidden place which is worth discovering!!

They also sell typical Aeolian products cultivated and prepared by the family.
