Unfortunately we stayed on a day the hotel closed early, for the start of the town's four-day fiesta. This meant that we had to eat lunch on arrival, when we really did not feel too hungry. The meal was probably the worst I have had in four decades of travelling in Spain! I can only assume that the fiesta preparations had got in the way of serving a decent menu. Rooms are OK, clean etc, and fair value for money. Not much else open on our arrival day -- an alternative for eating under normal conditions is the Bar El Portugues, opposite. Hostal Frances owners pleasant enough. I'd like to think that it was just bad luck to arrive on the fiesta eve, and to find the hotel practically closing downMore
