We stayed at Villa Chelo for a week at the end of June. Our party consisted of myself, my wife, my son (24) , my daughter (19) and my sons girlfriend (her first real holiday abroad). We had an absolutely briliant time. The weather was glorious for the whole stay, which certainly helps.
The villa is very spacious , each group had their own bathroom and shower. The lounge, the verandah and the pool area are all large enough for sititng together, playing games or eating lunches, breakfast and barbeques.
Everything is done to make you feel welcome, good instructions and no feeling that you shouldn't do or use something. The pool was brilliiant, plenty of water for our kids (who are both top notch swimmers) and for us who like to paddle , float and mess around. The pool was always warm. Good supply of chairs and loungers at hand plus kids inflatables if required. We bring loads of our own anyway. We were surprised how clean the pool kept throughout the week. At other villa holidays we often fished insects and bugs out of the water every day with the net but no problem here. The jacuzzi was a bonus but best used late in the day when things had cooled down.
The area around the villa is very quiet. We often sat there playing cards or eating and noticing the lack of noise. We could hear the planes taking off from the airport in the distance, and the occassional splash or voice from people in villas either side. You couldn't actually see them.
Car parking was on site ( a car was probably essential ) .
We had 2 barbeques on the vernadah - again no problems for bugs but one cat got very nosey. The villa was well stocked with mosquito deterrents and we didnt have any problems at the villa. A couple of ants made it to one bedroom but a quick spray soon put them off from returning. A few of the party got bitten when visiting the local restaurants by the harbours. Plenty of choice for meals out in the evening all fairly close (Mao was the furthest we went)....lots of useful info in the visitors book too. The kids were keen on getting internet so we did need to pick restaurants that offered it
The villa is well equipped but we didnt use many of the electrical facilities like the washing machine or dish washer. We barely used the oven but did use the rings a few times. Loads of hot water was always available.
We had planned to do more activities around Minorca however the villa was so relaxing we stayed nearly the whole week there.
