Our trip to Ibiza was fantastic and it was being made even more amazing with our stay in Agroturismo Can Planells. The room and surroundings were clean, comfortable and quiet, definitely a great place to relax after a night of partying. The fruit and vegetables served at breakfast were so fresh as they came straight from the gardens of Agroturismo Can Planells. Service by Joan and his team was impeccable, they were friendly and ever ready to assist us in our requests. We will definitely stay here next year when we visit Ibiza.

A lovely family run converted farmhouse surrounded by beautiful countryside. Breakfast was always delicious and the property has a beautiful pool. It's for those who wish to get away from it all and I especially loved that you could pick the fruits from the trees and the herbs from the surrounding plants. And of course the honesty bar was a lovely touch! For a peaceful and relaxing Ibizan experience! Juan and his family were fantastic hosts. I will definitely go back!

We stayed for ten days as a family of three and had a great time here. Relaxing, understated, run very efficiently by the excellent Snr Joan and family.

The hotel is in the middle of a working orchard and is a fantastic spot to relax, unwind and watch the clouds go buy and the oranges and lemons ripen. Pool area very nice and superbly maintained, rooms equally so - lovely roof terrace on our suite, so late night drink watching shooting stars each night.

Breakfast is superb of course - organic, locally produced and taken at a leisurely pace with Joan topping up on coffee regularly. Joan there to give advice on things to do, locations etc when needed.

We opted for the open air massage a couple of times which was sensational - really well done, and you can book pilates etc if you wish too.

Our little girl (4yrs) was enchanted by the place, loved her breakfast and insisted on inspecting the farm and orchard every morning to see what was growing and to find the cats.

Just excellent - true meaning of the Agro Hotel brand ! We will be back...

Room Tip: Suites are good for families - other rooms seem just as nice but you will benefit from the extra space and sofa bed. Roof terrace in the suite is worth having !

just returned from a wonderful week in the Ibiza centre staying with Señor Joan at Can Planells - we booked a superior room with its own terrace and a rear courtyard - pictures of the pool area don't do it justice as there is ample space to chill and read a book and take in some rays but not feel as if your invading someone else's space as in some of the pool areas we saw at other places (Es Cucons,The Giri). Breakfast is served under a naturally shaded area by the house - totally freshly squeezed orange, carrot or apple juices, and their own avocados sliced over pan con tomato.
Joan is an excellent host and is able to recommend and book many excellent restaurants to try as well as suggest itineraries for your stay. For us, it was just a case of getting up late, and doing as much or as little as we wanted to that day/night. An excellent place to stay, and as Ibiza is only a small island, it was perfectly situated (not to far from the main Ibiza Town - Sant Gertrudis - San Miquel road) to explore everywhere within 20-30 mins, we can't wait to go back!
some of our suggestions:
la Paloma restauarnt in San Llorenc - really good food and people watching
la Luna 'nell Orto in San Miquel - super romantic Italian (not cheesy!) - fresh homemade pasta served under the branches of a large fig tree by the very good-looking owner (not my view personally!)
cafe Can Cosmi in St Agnes for supreme tortilla, Cafe Macao (tapas) and Bar Costa (bocadillos) in Sant Gertrudis as lunch spots.
Chiringuitos at Cala Mastella (el Bigotes) for bullit de peix and that at Cala Xuclar for secluded coves and good beach food. Try the sunday lunch at S'Illot -again superb locally caught fish.
Seafood at Es Torrent was lovely at sunset but felt a bit rushed (the waiter did push us to go for the catch of the day and was a tad non-plussed when we said we were in the mood for paella - (the fish here however is unbelievably fresh but ££££!) - another thing to bear in mind is that in the heat of JulyAugust, no self respecting spaniard would consider turning up at a restaurant much before 10pm and often much later - eating much earlier may sentence you to eating at a very empty restaurant or with non-Spanish families of many children dependent on the place you're at.
Finally, if as was our case and your return flight to the UK was scheduled for nearly midnight, leaving you a whole day, a suggestion might be to drive to San Carles and the excellent rural hotel Can Curreu. It had a special deal which included full use of their facilities (spa, gym - necessary after all that eating! - outdoor pool) and also included a 5 course tasting meal - lunch or dinner and 1 hour's massage. It really made for an excellent way to end our Ibizan break.
muchas gracias Joan!
