“Honest review”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

I don't normally review our holidays and I'm having previously worked in the travel industry I'm aware of the holiday makers that complain about anything and everything, so I will be as honest as I possibly can and give both pros and cons.

We are a family of five three children a three year old, a five year old, and an 11 year old.
We have just returned from a fortnights stay in tourito.
We travelled with jet 2 as a package deal.
The food to begin with was as expected from an all inclusive resort very samey but after a couple of days it started to make us sick, the restaurant is heaving and really noisy waiting on staff are efficient but found the chefs to be rather rude. Food was generally served cold. Our family room was lovely on the third floor with a nice sea view with a balcony which you get the sun on until it sets (this goes for most rooms I think).
The pool area was manic so many people so little room! I found it difficult to keep an eye on my toddler as there where just so many children there! My 11 year old enjoyed it as he made lots of new friends. You struggle to get a sunbed unless your up with the lark.
My four year old daughter enjoyed the kids clubs during the day of which there are two, one in the morning, one in the afternoon.
The entertainment was great both by the animation team and outside entertainers, but again very busy and there was always a struggle for seating (even more so as other hotels in the resort use the same area).
The waterpark is great for kids and adults alike, it is salt water but that didn't bother us to much.
We went Into mogan and Puerto Rico as we hired a car but there are bus services and taxis for around €10. I would recommend the pirate ship excursion from Puerto Rico we really enjoyed it.
The beach is volcanic the first day we went the water was quite choppy and there was lots of jellyfish but the second time seemed more calm and less jellyfish, Daddy and the older kids went out on jet skis and loved it. We also went to mogan and Puerto Rico's beaches white sand and the waters pretty clean but there was a lot of rubbish floating around (toilet paper and sanitary items) so wasn't too nice.
The weather was fab very hot all of the two weeks.
We had use of the sister hotel opposite once we started using their facilities we only went back to lago to sleep, their food was the same but cooked and presented a lot better their restaurant was lovely and relaxed with a lovely outdoor seating area. Their pool area was also a lot quiter with a much better toddler pool away from the big pool. We only had use of this hotel as we had VIP wristbands as we booked over a year ago. The general feeling for ourselves ad people we met there was that we felt a bit trapped at the resort surrounded by cliffs there is no tow you can just take a walk into.

Room Tip: All rooms pretty much the same I think.

Me my partner and 4year old son and mother and father spent 2 weeks from the 31st May and will certainly be returning, even my parents said they are usually ready for home but could of easily stayed longer.
How anyone can complain about this hotel is beyond me, ignore any negative reviews, the food was lovely and plentiful, even for picky eaters, there is even a children's self service an separate part of restaurant that you can sit alongside them if they want or you can all go in the main part of the restaurant.
The bedrooms are cleaned 6 days of the week and towels changed when you leave them on the floor, the maids are lovely and really do a great job.
We had a family room 718 and was a lovely room with great views. The watermark was popular with us my son loved it even though he only went on the very small slides it was great as it has a very shallow end so you can sit in the water while your kids dip in and out, the slides are great for the adults also and you have free use you only pay if you want a pad for the subbed or an umbrella and that's only 2 euro each.
Definitely go to the market in Puerto Morgan on the Friday it's only 1euro 40 per adult and children under 5 are free on the bus or 6 euro in a taxi, get bus early as it gets packed.
A lovely beach is Anfi beach it's past Puerto Rico and was 1 euro 60 on the bus.
We also did angry birds park in Puerto Rico the kids loved it if you have a group of 6 or more is 11 euro each, again bus cheap 1 euro 40 each.
On the last day we were unable to keep room on but were offered a half hour slot courtesy room this was just a shower room in a room in the toilets near reception but did the job.
Will book for next year perfect for families and couples....

Hotel was beautiful. The Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. There is a small beech close to the resort. Waterpark directly outside the hotel.
Great facilities and activities for all the family to enjoy and the evening entertainment was amazing The animation team were great. We all really enjoyed the holiday and will be returning again next year.

Ignore all the bad reviews this hotel was by far the best i have ever stayed at (and ive travelled a lot) we flew from manchester on the night flight so didnt arrive while 4AM they put a little buffet on for us with soft drinks, anyway we was in room 240 and it was spotless and we was plesantly suprised even had sun loungers on our balcony. the food was really nice everyday never had one complaint, night entertainement was a bit boring but our son and all the other kids enjoyed it, the animation team were fab and kept us entertained through the day round the pool. the beach is lovely and a hop skip nd jump away. i would highly reccomend this hotel. we did the sagitaruis dolphn cruise, although we didnt see any dolphiins it was well worth €80 for a family of 3. Hotel should be more then a 3 star, if we do return we will upgrade to a family room that way our son can have his own room.

Room Tip: floor 3 was the large family rooms.

We (family of 6) have just came home after a week, and could of easily stayed another two!
The hotel itself is in an ideal location; right next to the water park, beach, mini market and gift shops. The rooms were spotless, all with air-con and balconies.
The food is this hotel is superb, not to be faulted. In the seven days we were there we still had not had chance to try everything. Pool area is brilliant, there is a raised platform with a jacuzzi (a little quieter, and away from the main pool) -the lifeguard will soak your towels if they're down on the loungers before 8am, but this gives everybody a chance to get a sun lounger.
Entertainment area is great, in the center of the four main hotels and everybody gets involved. Also the arcade area is great for kids. The bar there is a little busy but what can you expect?
Bus to larger town Puerto Rico is every half hour and costs around 2 euros each way.
This hotel is 100% value for money and would recommend it to anybody.

I stayed here on an all inclusive holiday in June 2014 with my wife and 4 year old daughter. I will break down the different aspects of the stay below, but overall I think we all pretty much enjoyed it:

Hotel:
The hotel is a modern looking, bright and good looking place when you first walk in. The reception area is plenty big and as we were nealry 4 hours delayed and arrived at around 3am, the hotel provided a bit of food/drink for us and there was someone to help with the bags to the room - 7th floor, but plenty of lifts thank god!

Room:
I upgraded to a family room which was a good decision. The non-family rooms are half the size and must literally be a bed and bathroom. The family room is spacious with a kitchen and huge balcony. All balconies are directed towards the pool area, so all get the sun from around 11am through to about 8pm. The beds were a bit harsh on my back as i like very hard beds, but the wife and little girl seemed to be fine with them. As for the rest of the room, it was always very clean and we never had any issues with the usual shower/air con etc.

Pool:
The pool had sun from about 11am onwards and did get very busy with kids. The smaller pool was quite small and was usually rammed too. Wasn't bad though, although you need to get your towel on the sunbeds by around 9am at the latest to get a decent spot. The bar was always fairly quick with drinks and food, although i'm told the food was questionable. The ice cream was free flowing though.

Food:
The dining area served at set times, and although i heard a few moans from people who only ever seemed to have chips and pizza on their plate, we had no issues at all with it. The tables were cleaned quickly by the very happy staff and the rest was self service. As for the food, there was always something different - Sections were spread out with loads to choose from at each different sitting. Plenty of fish, grilled meat, thai food, spanish dishes etc etc. Constantly topped up by the chefs and the deserts were just as good!

Entertainment:
I have read a few other reviews about the animations team at the hotel.....They are not even close. The team were great with everyone, and even the miserable holidaymakers were found getting involved. Plenty of games etc to take part in during the day with little prizes for the winners at the end of the day. The junior disco at the end of the day was situated in an area between the 3 main hotels onsite - this got extremely busy but the bar staff there were normally quick to serve. Following the disco, there were prize announcements from the day's activities and then at 9pm there was normally a show. These shows were really good considering - One noght we had the animations team performing Grease which was entertaining, we also had an exotic bird show, chinese acrobats and some sort of pacific island natives putting on a very good show. Needless to say we weren't bored at night. There is also a disco that opens at 11 ish.

Waterpark:
The waterpark is again shared between the hotels and paying public (although apart from weekends, it's generally just hotel residents). While the slides were exciting for the whole family, unfortunately the water was salt water which pretty much ruins it when you get a mouthful at the bottom! We only spent half a day here due to this.

Anyway, overall the place is pretty good. Plenty to do or easy enough to relax, also plenty of kids and couples about. Once again, the animations guys and girls were great with the kids.....special note for Ricardo, who was head and shoulders above the others!

If i was asked if i would go back, i'd consider it, but would like to look for somewhere else with a few less Brits and a little bit more to do in the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the family room

Just returned from an absolutely amazing two week stay at this wonderful resort. We had room 412 which gave us an amazing view of the whole complex. Found the hotel clean with excellent maid service every day but Sunday. The food as a few people have said was good but a bit repetitive after 2 weeks, but our kids aged 8,9,11 and 14 all found plenty to keep them happy. There is not a great deal to do on a night for the adults the children are extremely well catered for and I did find the only bar outside catering for three hotels was far to small and crowded if you didn't get down for 7ish you struggled to get a seat!! The bar staff were not that friendly and after queuing for a while you were then told you could only have two drinks!! Also the bar closed for all inclusive guests at 11 pm which I found a bit early although the hotel and resort is basically for families so some people would appreciate the quietness after 11 pm. That being said there is a lovely bar inside the largo hotel which apparently is opening during the busier months. Shame it wasn't open whilst we were there as we sat in reception a few nights and had to walk to the outside bar to get a drink!!!! There are plenty of shops around the hotel although top tip if you like to read an English newspaper you need to be down at the supermarket by 9 am or they have all gone. We walked across to the lovely 5 star hotel taurito princess and shopped in the newsagent shop in the lobby plenty of newspapers and English magazines.

As has been mentioned the water park is salt water and therefore, the kids tended to stay around the pool they did use the waterpark but not as much as I thought they would. The pool is quite small but adequate as stated, the pool bar only serves hot dogs, burgers and toasties which sometimes were a bit cold. There is a small amount of construction work underway but it never seemed to bother us.

By far the BEST thing about this hotel is the fantastic animation team especially RICARDO my son stuck to him like glue for the second week and he was absolutely amazing with him to the point my son was completely devastated when we left, RICARDO made our holiday. They all work so hard day and night to get you all involved, football, mini golf, table tennis, darts, cocktail games to mention just a few of the activities on and the daily club dance kept my Ethan and Libby extremely entertained. There are pros and cons to every hotel but we had the best holiday we have had in a long time I would definitely recommend and we are already looking at booking to go back in October, one of the main reasons being the wonderful Ricardo can't speak highly enough of him, felt like part of the family by the time we left!!! So much so our holiday next year could depend on where Ricardo is working that is how amazing he is :-)

Puerto Morgan is definitely work a visit beautiful and only 7 euros in a taxi, or a small walk to the bus stop and 2 euros on the bus.
