“A Beautiful Cottage”

We have never been to the Cotswolds before and after having spent 7 days in this beautiful cottage I can assure you we are now die hard Cotswold fans. The cottage is beautiful and everything you would hope for in a cottage in which to spend a relaxing holiday. A warm and open living room leads to an amply stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook and enjoy meals in the cottage (seriously you need not bring a thing to cook with: it's all there). It has two beautifully decorated bedrooms which fit into the whole feeling of the cottage: a warm and comfortable home away from home. There is a handy utility room with a washing machine and tumble drier in case of a need to do a bit of washing whilst you are there. It genuinely ticks all the boxes.

The village in which it resides is beautiful and quiet
(Apart from the church bells which are not annoying at all, in fact they add to the overall charm and become quite comforting very quickly). The cottage is close to all of the major sights of the Cotswolds and is down the road from Moreton in Marsh which has lovely coffee shops, independent retailers, pubs and resteraunts as well as a supermarket should you need it. If you don't want to trek to do your shopping then you can get shopping delivered: we used Morrisons and they were great.

It's also a short distance away from the most charming little village you'd ever care to visit: Bourton on the Water, the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' which was a joy from start to finish. If you want to see everything then you can't ask for a better base from which to enjoy your holiday to the Cotswolds.

If you're looking for a cottage that is comfortable, clean and appointed to meet all your needs then Slatters Cottage is highly recommended. We shall return!

“Lovely New Year Hideaway!”
Reviewed 8 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

My wife and I stayed at Slatters Cottage over New Year to escape into the Cotswolds for a week. The cottage is wonderful and perfectly positioned in the village with a short walk to the fantastic Horse & Groom pub. We ate there twice in the week and it was fabulous both times. When we arrived the cottage had been decorated with lights, decorations and a tree for Christmas - a lovely touch. We loved curling up in front of the log burning stove each night after our walks in the wonderful Cotswolds countryside.

We did a couple of walks from the cottage itself as well as driving out to nearby Stow and Bourton on the Water. We also found Moreton in Marsh very handy for local food shopping. On the only day we had rain (we were very lucky) we walked to the local Arboretum down the road which was a lovely spot - even in the rain!

We had swapped messages with Peter and Caroline a few times before staying and they were extremely helpful and always prompt in their replies.

All in all a fabulous place to stay in a beautiful part of the UK.

“A superb character property and all of the conveniences”

The cottage is full of superb features eg wooden beams, a large ingle nook fire place with log burner and stone table and bench in the garden. To compliment the features the cottage has excellent furniture, fittings and appliances . The decorating throughout is also tastefully done to complete the setting. The double and single bedrooms have very comfortable beds and the bathroom is stylishly fitted.
The property is situated in the very attractive village of Bourton-on-the-Hill which has many extremely attractive Cotswold style houses. Within walking distance of the cottage is a pub called the Horse and Groom that serves excellent food, we booked in advance to ensure a table.
Surrounding the property there are many of the typical Cotswold villages eg Morton -on-the-March, Broadway, and Bourton-on-the-Water. We also visited two National Trust properties that were reasonably near. There are information leaflets for many other attractions available in the cottage.

“Charming cottage in lovely countryside and close to excellent gastropub”
Reviewed 11 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Stayed for a week for the second time in this lovely stone cottage in small hillside village. Next door is an excellent gastropub (Horse & Groom). Easy walking access to country trails, great gardens, and lovely villages. Quiet, well-appointed kitchen, washing machine and dryer.

“Fantastic fantastic fantastic”

Had a fantastic holiday at this delightful cottage ( immaculate when we arrived) a real home from home they have paid a lot of attention to the finer detail of this cottage. We had a really peaceful stay which was what we came for and celebrated my hubby's birthday and Mother's Day (cake was very welcoming) lovely and warm with the wood burner ( we did bring some logs from home as have a log burner) but there was plenty there ( first 12 are free). Location very picturesque lived around here 20 years ago so lovely to come back visited many places Bourton on the water and Broadway beautiful Moreton on the marsh market on a Tuesday morning well worth a visit. Had a lovely meal at the coach and horses Longborough (traditional pub grub) Horse and groom a lovely pub and food looked lovely more a la carte but very busy so need to book.
Will definitely re visit and recommend. Brian the owner very friendly and helpful.

“Idyllic Cotswold hideaway perfect for a romantic weekend.”
Reviewed 10 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

Slatter Cottage was exactly as described; pretty, cosy, comfortable and well located. Excellent instructions were sent out by the owner who responded quickly to all my enquiries and the cottage had everything we needed for the weekend, down to classic films on DVD, wireless connection and milk in the fridge! 5 minutes drive from the nearest shops, and 2 minutes walk to the nearest pub (which is excellent). I look forward to coming back.
