Firstly apologies for the delay, have been meaning to write this since Xmas !! We had a great 2 night pre Xmas break. Our room, a large double was very large, well decorated, extremely clean and warm ( great to be able to open windows and turn up and down the rad ourselves ) and a very very cosy bed. Tea, coffee and bottled water replaced daily along with fresh milk.
The welcome is warm and very personal, the owner and bar staff seem to really care that you have a good time but at no time does that feel intrusive. Breakfast was lovely, very tasty and local milk served in individual bottles? We had a great time, haven't felt so relaxed in ages. Visited all the local villages but the highlight was returning to the Horse and Groom each day.The cotswolds isn't a cheap place to visit for a few days but bearing that in mind we felt the H&G was excellent value and we'll worth it.

What a fantastic place. Our stay was so relaxing from start to finish. Tom and his team were all very helpful and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable with lovely view down the hill over the countryside. Our meal in the bar was delicious and exceeded all our expectations. Great to see the blackboard menu change throughout the night with different dishes. There was a really great atmosphere with so many people arriving to enjoy their Saturday evening. We will certainly be back!

We have often passed by this Inn on the road from Moreton to Broadway, and the smallish car park has always been full!!...a good sign!! but have not stopped until recently when, at lunchtime, a space was spotted on our way up the hill, and we shot into it quickly before anyone else!!
Well, the place was certainly worth stopping for as expected!....A light and contemporary 'country' look to the bar area was very smart and well done, and to my delight, several real-ales were on offer from hand-pumps on the bar, and the wine list too, was excellent! We were served by a very genial host (I assume one of the owners?) who was very pleasant in his manner and repartee.....except....when he regrettably informed us that the restaurant area was fully booked up for a pre-Christmas Party!!!...and that lunch would not be possible!!....C'est la vie!.. we had to make do with a sample of the ale and a glass of very good chardonnay, and we were on our way with thoughts of soon returning to sample the cuisine and other obvious merits of this charming inn (if we can park!?!)

Room Tip: We did not stay, so cannot comment on this side of the business at present!

Went here with friends recently. Very nice lunch. Not too ambitious menu which is always a good sign. Wonderful fish soup, go for that alone if you want to be parsimonious. Couple of pints or a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc - job done. Anyway, I had then the plaice which was very good indeed - beautifully prepared. Our friends had the beef, again very good. Mrs Oldbutkeen had a pork chop which was well up to standard. Too full for puddings but they looked great. Service was good. We were served at the bar by a lady who looked tired. Well, not surprised. Must be hard work keeping up these standards. Given it five blobs because it's really trying to be a pub rather than a gastro pub and the chef obviously cooks from the heart. Well done. Keep it up and give that lady more rest!
