“Delicious food and pretty B&B”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

We stayed here for one night B&B with dinner. The food was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough to help us. The building is full of character and the village is very pretty. I would definitely recommend.

We went to a family wedding at the bull. Martin and his staff were all helpful and polite. The food was a buffet. All of which was delicious. Although we didn't stay. All the rooms were booked out and everyone I spoke to was happy with their accommodation.

We took over the hotel for our wedding reception and put up most of the family in the bedrooms.

The food and wine was first class and reasonably priced considering the high quality of both.

Several family members also stayed on the night before as well.

The rooms (all en suite) were spacious, clean and had very comfortable beds.

Martin the owner does his utmost to make it a lovely experience

The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

They have a separate buttery where we were entertained by "Chicory Tip" a local band who had a number one hit some years ago. The space was beautifully decorated.

Room Tip: lower bedroom floor has easier access

While on a buisness trip in England I had been booked into this hotel. I wasn't expecting much more than what it is. A nice hotel. But on check in I got talking to the member of staff. He really looked after me in the 4 days i was there. Even informing the other barstaff to do similar which they did. They made my stay which was going to be a rather voring one into a great time. Highly recommend staying here. Food was good, room was excellent, but for me it is all about the personal behind the bar that make this hotel one i will return to.

Attending a friends wedding just a short walk away, we decided to stay rather than book a cab home. Excellent large and comfy room, friendly and helpful staff and a fab breakfast the next morning with lots of choice - very handy for our slight hangovers! The only slight negative, was that our ensuite was very very small, with the wash hand basin being accomodated in the main bedroom as no space in the ensuite - but really didn't affect our stay, as hardly in room, if you were staying for longer or wanted to get ready to go out, it may be an idea to request a room with a larger ensuite. Would definitely recommend based on our experience.

Stayed here for one night and thought this was excellent value. Good clean room, comfy bed with facilities. Good standard evening meal. Very nice breakfast. Very friendly staff and good service. Ideal location for visiting area; we visited Chartwell one day and another two other National Trust places. Would recommend if you want to visit this area.
