“Excellent location, peaceful and quiet cottage in a rural location”

The location is amazing - 10 minutes to the nearest beach which was absolutely beautiful and ideal for young children. Other than a chiringuito close by where we could buy drinks and ice creams, the beach was not at all commercialised. The cottage is in a very quiet, rural location, but within walking distance of a village shop (other shops in the nearest town are a 10 minute drive away). You'd definitely need a car in this location. The cottage is connected to the owner's house, with the garden (grassed area, patio & BBQ) located on the other side. We did see the owners most days, but didn't feel our space was imposed on. The amenities in the cottage were definitely sufficient for a 2 week holiday. The kitchen was simple but perfectly useable, and the bathroom was fine. The bedrooms were large and the cottage was more than capable of housing our family of 4 without feeling overcrowded. The owners were very keen to make sure we had all the information we wanted on local landmarks, towns, beaches etc, and we're very grateful to Miguel for providing delicious fresh produce from his garden.

This holiday was lovely and simple and incredibly relaxing. We'd recommend!

Thank you for your positive and welcome comments. We totally agree with you about the location - it is amazing and we ourselves love living here in such beautiful surroundings. By offering our knowledge of local information, we try to ensure you'd get the most out of your visit and so we are very pleased that you did have such a good holiday while staying in our cottage. It is useful to have your confirmation of its suitability for a family with young children. We could see how much fun they were having every day and we in turn enjoyed the company of you all and look forward to the pleasure of your return visit.

Thank you for your comprehensive review - we are very pleased that the cottage provided you with the right accommodation for exploring this wonderful part of Galicia and equally pleased that you appreciated the facilities.
The small windows were of course traditionally built that way for centuries along with metre thick walls, to conserve heat in winter and keep the cottage pleasantly cool during the hot summer months. It was just a shame you didn't get to enjoy the normal good weather for June. Fortunately, this didn't seem to restrict your daily exploring!
Certainly our WI-Fi signal is not up to the optic fibre speeds one is used to in a city, but at around 2.5 Mb, we are fortunate that it is better than in much of rural Spain. We personally find that it generally works adequately for normal use. There was an improvement after installing a signal booster and the most recent visitors were certainly able to upload their holiday photos without problems!
As you say, the cottage is very well placed for visiting the numerous sights in the region and we were glad you found the road access to them so good. Of course, some of rural Galicia's narrow country lanes and village streets do provide quite a change for visitors but they also form a major part of the charm of the region, being designed for the age of the horse and cart or the donkey. However, what was most pleasing was to learn that our handbook proved to be of such benefit to you for your explorations.
We do thank you both for staying at the cottage and for your kind and helpful remarks - we are pleased you managed to enjoy yourselves so much and we really do hope that you'll visit us again.

“Delightful, helpful hosts in a beautifully restored home!”

Such a wonderful place, lovingly restored to maintain the historical features! It has spacious rooms with lots of character. If we hadn't been running around sightseeing so much, we would've enjoyed spending time in the beautiful front garden.

Miguel and Jenne are fabulous hosts! Jenne insisted on hanging & bringing in our laundry for us, shooing us off to go exploring and Miguel gave incredibly detailed driving directions. Both were available for advice & friendly chats. They've put together an extensive book of information for guests including maps, local history, sites, restaurants, etc. -- really impressive!

Definitely heed their recommendation to go to El Horreo for a meal. We had great chicken and fish, and the desserts were also lovely. We used the place as a home base to explore up Costa da Morte and a bit to the south, as well as Santiago de Compostela.

Thank you so much for your kind and generous remarks. When one has such charming guests, then it is a pleasure wanting to ensure that they get the most out of their precious holiday time. We are very gratified that you appreciated the cottage and its character so much, also that the information book is actually proving so useful - and thanks for the additional items to put in it! You certainly confirmed that the cottage is a good base from which to explore both the northern Costa da Morte and the southern Rias Baixas, as well as Santiago and we are delighted that you had such an enjoyable experience staying here.

“Unspoilt, traditional cottage with exceptional hospitality”

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay on the most beautiful stretch of Galician coast. Dramatic scenery surrounds the cottage, providing a perfect backdrop for outdoor breakfasts. Beautiful quiet beaches (with great surf) within 10-15 minutes drive. Michael and Jenne were delighted to help with any questions and provided us with ample information on local places of interest. Simple and traditionally furnished, beautifully renovated rustic stone cottage with a pretty garden. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to a friend.
