Great villa, nice and clean, good host that are close but not to close, abruzzo is A wonderful area. We did hiking, river rafting and tree climing, horseback riding- all within 1 hour drive. Wonderful food in the area, and jo is very helpful to guide and book if you need it. Can only recommend strongly.
This is my idea of perfection! This area of Abruzzo is still relatively unknown to tourists and feels like "real Italy". The villa is perched atop a high hill with views of wheat fields, olive trees and vineyards below. Sipping a glass of local wine next to the pool at the villa is a perfect way to relax after a day touring the area. The beach is only about 20 miles away. The mountains are at our doorstep. The villa is very well appointed. Very comfortable, with everything we need here. Hosts Chris and Jo are kind and have left us with lots of suggestions of things to do. Highly recommend this place!
One of the best vacations ever - the villa was perfect, the views amazing and Chris and Jo are simply the best. Abruzzo was everything and more and we will definitely come back again.
In the heart of Abruzzo we've found our dream location for relaxing and enjoying life. Villa di Stelle is located just perfect in the mountains where the only thing you hear is the spund of farmers doing what they've been doing for decades. The views are stunning during both day and night, the appartment super cozy and Jo and Chris are better hosts than you could ever wish for, helping out with everything you need - including patience.
We cannot wait to go back again and recommend this place as highly as possible.
Villa Di Stelle is the perfect place to stay while exploring Abruzzo. We arrived from Rome via car and were delighted upon arriving the house on a hill which is set high above a valley with the most beautiful view of neighboring towns and the mountains.
Our hosts Chris and Joanne met us to provide keys and give a tour of the place and to offer any help with our plans. They quickly left to give us our privacy. The villa is two units and we had the top apartment with roof deck and use of the pool (it was too cold). The apartment has a great kitchen, bathroom, livings areas and large bedroom. The best part was waking up to the sounds and sights of the valley. I miss it already.
Jo helped us with restaurant reservations and suggestions for a couple of days until we got used to the area.
We explored hill towns, seaside towns, archaeological sights and ate the best food. We visited the winery down the street (thank you Sarah at Tilli winery) and had a lovely experience there.
Loved our 4 days in Casoli at this Villa. The photos do not do the place justice by the way!!!
If we would have any regrets about this place then only that we did not have more time to be there.
The house is situated in a beautiful scenery, all by itself, with a wonderful view on the majella mountains, surrounded by fields and olive groves. In the swimming pool we spent almost as much time at day as on the porch on top of the house in the evening or night. The experience of Joann as an artist shows itself in the stylish and so tasteful interior in every detail. The house breathes the care and love the owners invested in it.
Chris and Joann live in the house next door: the closeness is helpful if any questions arise, yet it is wonderful that both completely respect ones privacy. The contact normally goes through email exchange.Although there were only few occasions we met - on the first and the last day - upon leaving we felt that we had spent our vacation in the house of our best friends.
We cannot imagine a better place to stay and we sure hope to get another opportunity to do that.
